Hello,
I will be replacing the factory trigger on my Ar pretty soon and was wanting to hear from some people that have already traveled this road.

The gun is an Eagle Arms 7.62mm factory condition (no mods) and the factory installed trigger sucks. It is terrible.

I have been able to make sub moa groups at 100 yards with Federal Gold Medal Match ammo, but only if a strict shooting discipline is observed. I am concerned with the shot groups opening up terribly at 300 yards and beyond.

I realize that being a semi-auto rifle that I cant expect benchrest bolt action accuracy out to 800 or 1000 yards but I do know that this rifle is capable of doing better then in its current factory condition.
This gun is factory with a floated heavy target barrel and I think with the right trigger I will be pleased with its long range capabilities.

Any input, comments, or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.
I would also like to perform this task myself, if that is possible. It doesnt seem to be an overly complicated process.

Has anyone used the Timney trigger or the Armalite National match triggers?

I have an Armalite AR10 and yes the trigger is not good. I plan on ordering the match setup from Armalite.

The Rock River match is nice. I have shot one on my friend's AR. I don't know for sure what fits the AR10, which is why I will go with Armalite's. But the one from Timney looks good too. unsure.gif

I am not dead -set on a match trigger. I am just wanting something other than the piece of sh*t trigger that the gun came with from the factory.
i have had this one out twice and cleaned it up the best I could would very fine sand paper and steel wool, tried every lubricant that i know of and it still feels like your pulling a 15lb weight thru sand and rocks.
Anything is going to be better than its current state, I just only want to spend a couple hundred bucks one time to fix it. wink.gif

Somebody posted a link to a guy's website(?) who does AR triggers. He's supposed to be able to make a great trigger from stock parts. I'll see if I can find that post. If anyone knows the one I'm talking about please bump it.

Ok. the rock river 2 stage match is supposed to fit($100). Armalite 2 stage match defiantly fits ($150). Timney single stage fits($235). I think the Armalite is the one for me. If I was doing competition shooting I would go for the Timney.

Have you looked into the JP Enterprises Adjustable triggers? I have one on my LR-308 and it is very nice.

I've read about those in reviews (magazine) and they get high marks. I haven't seen or played with one though.

They appear to be a very well built trigger assembly. Very nice finish. thumb.gif
