It is a tough decision. I am also considering trading my Delta Gold Cup for a S&W 500. I want the big gun badly, but my DGC is one of only a few hundred blue models made. It would probably be foolish to part with it.

Let me know if you sort this out. Have 8 3/8s unfired with extras.

Don't do that you will regret it I had one S&W 500 - the ammo costs and components are staggering, availability is non existent just a waste of freakin' time...

Here is an update and perhaps some information of interest to others.

First, the update is that I have decided to hold on to my Colt for a while. I have found a means to purchase another firearm, so there is no need to let mine go unless someone offers way too much to turn down.

Now the interesting news is that I finally received a letter from the Customer Service Department at the Colt Manufacturing Company. (THANK YOU JEFFREY PARKER, service rep!) The letter tells me that my COLT DELTA GOLD CUP (BLUE, mod. 05810) was made in a limited production of 800 pistols in 1991.

So, the blue DGC's are not as rare as I'd been told, but the story is finally official. I have one of just 800 of this model. Somewhere out there 799 others are lurking about. I wonder if they know how few there are...
