I have a preCZ DW RZ10 it is a wounderful shooter, but I hate chasing brass and money is very tight so I an not shooting it much. I have a S&W 629 Classic Hunter 6.5" barrel I use for hunting. I have toyed with the idea of trading for an other S&W 44 mag with 2.5"-4" barrel for carring during deer season as a back-up and for plinking and maybe even for a house gun. My 10mm is not deer legal in KS, 44 is with any barrel length. I reload and cast my own 44s right now, the 10mm I been buying bullets, recoil is about the same to me and never have to chase brass. What would you do? I know here on this forum I'm a heretic for even thinking about it.

Do what is right for you...who cares if others get upset

I understand about money being tight. If it is not practical for you get something that you will use and if money gets better and you miss the 10mm get one than

Im alittle biased, but I say keep the DW. You have a pre CZ Wesson that is kinda sout after around here. If your really have to chase brass very far, try a heavier recoil spring set up. Should drop the brass by your feet.

I suppose I am a true zealot, cause I wouldn't ditch my 10mm. I have done that once already when I sold my Delta Elite sixteen years ago. The plan was to buy something right away, and right away became fourteen years.

Currently I have the itch for something in 45 LC that can handle stout loads. Really wish the Super Redhawk Alaskan came in a 4" barrel. The option to shoot 454 Casull would be great. But, I am not up for trading either of my 10mm's to get one.

I got rid of my 610 and wish I had not. sad.gif
But if a person has money issues, I can understand that.
While it will hard to part with, you should fetch a good price for that DW.

Ringo, you could try reloading the 10mm brass. This is another alternative, if you want to keep the gun. Are you allowed to hunt with a 10mm revolver, ala 610 in Kansas? If so, maybe you could use the proceeds from the Dan Wesson and buy a 6.5 bbl 610 for hunting. Just a thought. Anyhow, welcome to the forum!

If you must, you must. If you can avoid it, please do! You'll probably regret it either immediately, or down the line.

Sell it for what you can buy your 44 for, to someone who you can trust to sell it back to you, WHEN you decide you made the ultimate mistake by selling it to begin with.
I hope that makes sense??!

It is a tough decision. I am also considering trading my Delta Gold Cup for a S&W 500. I want the big gun badly, but my DGC is one of only a few hundred blue models made. It would probably be foolish to part with it.

Yes this makes sense but I am in a new area and don't know anyone that I trust yet and am thinking maybe I'll keep the RZ-10 for a little longer unless the right deal comes along that I can't refuse. wacko.gif

I truly hope thatbyou do not have to sell the DW-andthat God gives you the financial wherewithall to keep it-I had to part company with about 50-60- out of an old collection-including the first 610's in both barrel lengths and the Ruger Buckeye 10mm to make the first ex a happy camper -so I feel your pain-no I am not Clinton-just empathize-Bob Serva's Pistols were special and he is special-you have a treasure there so think carefully-you can probably pick up a nice used Ruger SBH in .44 mag on the ruger forum inexpensively for your hunting needs- may God grant you the Grace and wherewithall to survive -MM

They have these nifty things called brass catchers. They fit on your hand and catch the brass from your semiauto as long as it is a side ejector. It looks like an aquarium fish net with a strap. You could make one yourself for about $10. Just a thought.

I'm glad to hear you are going to hold on to your Dan Wesson. I couldn't imagine parting with mine. Somedays a man has to do, what he has to do, and nobody said he has to like it. The ten is only a small step down from the 44mag[with full power loads]. I have harvested deer with my 10mm, Super flat shooter and hits hard. Even The Master Bowman Ted Nugent uses a 10mm to hunt wild boar. Although it is my understanding that his pistol is marked TED MM. not 10mm

Are you really thinking of selling your 10 or are you looking for reasons to keep it? These are the important questions. There are many out here that will gladely help you to enjoy your 10mm more, but if you need to sell it I'm sure you will not be outcast ed. I am not working and at this time will not sell my guns, (I am not supporting anyone but myself). I would only sell my 10mm if I found something that fit me better, (this hasn't happened so far).

I would not do it. You will regret it, if you are a collector/enthusiast. If a gun is a just a tool for hunting to you, and you really don't care that much about it, then maybe. But if you were that way then I doubt you would have bought a razorback in the first place, or be on the gun boards.

I have spent a lot of money replacing awesome guns I wish I had not sold. Don't do it.

Well, that's the problem. I know that only one short run of this model (mod. 05810) was made during one year and realize that I have a sort of treasure, and that even if there were a million of them it would still be a high quality and wonderful gun. However, this is a bit like discovering the picture hanging on your wall is a Remington or a Rembrandt, and it is difficult not to sometimes see it like money in the bank. I guess what has saved me from my own stupidity is that nobody has ever made a really interesting offer yet. Unless someone wants it bad enough to be very generous with an offer it will probably stay in my hands. After all, it is a pleasure to shoot and a treasure to shoot!

Any offers?
