Here is a bunch of small packable tents just be ready to shell out the dough for them. Do a search for tent.

Holy Crap!! You aren't kidding!

And what's with almost everything on the site being on backorder? They've got some slick gear on there.

I use a Eureka Zeus II.

Its a single wall new wind direction design with metal clip on rods for a very fast and easy setup and tear down. It has a very generous stuff sack which makes it soft so excellent for a tie down. 3.5lbs in weight but room for two and a little gear.

Since I use mine for backpacking as well as bike camping, its been used in all weather and seasons. Can't recommend it more highly.

Da am Barron. You and Scotto seem to have a cool stuff finding search engine. I might sit here in the Hack with the Blackberry and not find anything. Some one asks and you or Scotto (oh yeah some of the other here sorry if I missed you in my rant) post it.

nah we're all just old school gear pigs never satisfied with what we have so we spend forever finding sites that have what we'd like thumb.gif
to the OP, how many persons are you looking to tent, how much equipment would be housed inside with you, what environment for the camps, and finally what kind of weather range?

I have a Sierra Designs Iota that I love for solo camping. Its big enough for a big guy, his gear, and his dog if you bring one, has a nice rainfly with a decent vestibule for gear that needs to stay out. Its been discontinued for a few years, but you might be able to find one still around somewhere. I really like it a lot more than most of the current solos out there right now.
