Stag is excellent quality. Stag is the in house brand of CMT, which makes parts for a lot of brands. You absoutely can have confidence in Stag. I love mine.

I have a Stag 2TL (left-handed) and it is a great rifle that has given me no problems. You can read a review on the 2T at http://www.gunblast.com/STAG15.htm or you can read a review of the 1L at http://www.gunsandammomag.com/long_guns/stagarL_101006/

You might want to try and find a copy of "Guns & Ammo Book of the AR-15, 2007 Edition" where Patrick Sweeney called the Stag "A great rifle you shouldn't pass up" after he took it to a 2 day fighting rifle class and really put it through its paces.

As for customer service from Stag, here is another article that you might find interesting:

http://www.thegunzone.com/stag15_lc.html

Enjoy your new Stag.
