i have a line on a DW RZ10 "scratch & dent". he is wanting $900 shipped.
ive seen a bunch of pics of Dan Wesson "scratch & dent" guns, most of the "flaws" are just near microscopic inclusions in the surface of the metal.

what do you guys think about buying "scratch & dent" guns?

oh, he may have other 10mm models in stock, i didnt ask.

if you want to try him, its ken at "45colt@bellsouth.net"

BUY IT! Great deal and most people can't find anything wrong with them at ALL. $900 is a great price.

So DW oficially sells "scratch & dent" guns? Has anyone bought one? I'd probably be interested. How bad could it be? Is it only cosmetic flaws?

Some "dings" are almost imperceptible to the non-gun person. Others (e.g., gun collectors) are quite anal about the smallest of blemishes to they're beloved defense tools. My Kimber has a slight mar on the right-hand side of the slide. But the metal wasn't scratched, and when I tried rubbing it out with Flitz it now looks "shinier" if that's a word. I may, just have the slide refinished in black by Robar, it doesn't really cost that much. The cosmetic re-work may help, if I should ever need to sell the gun.

I've heard from many owners of their scratch and dent guns, and they all swear they got a screaming deal.

Huckleberry, I like that "rear sight" on the Les Baer Custom. Overall, a very nice-looking group of 1911's. Thanks for posting them, Zephyr thumb.gif . By the way, what are the typical groupings, you get with the Valor, at 7 yards combat range? I might be in the market for a Dan Wesson soon.

Very nice.

The blemish is horrible. As long as you just take it out at night, no one will be the wiser. laugh.gif

Beautiful piece you have there.

About year and a half ago they were running $750 to $800 for the DW 10mm 1911's blem's, I started to buy one about a year ago and didn't because of arthritis in hands is botheed by the steel slamming of the slides I guess, cause the G-29 and my 610's do not bother me to shoot.
