As the eyes get older I've noticed that some of my cheaper scopes are not as clear. I know that some scopes have exceptional glass what scope brand would be your recommendation:

SWAROVSKI
ZEISS
IOR
NIGHTFORCE
LEUPOLD
"OTHER" Please explain.

Thank You,

Sgt. Mike

I have a IOR 2.5-10X42. It is the best scope I have ever used. Although the only other scope on your list that I have used is Leupold Vari-X III 6.5-20X50.

I think you would be happy with any of those brands except the cheap Leupolds.

I have seen some good prices on used Zeiss scopes on other forums. I bought my IOR used for about half price.

Thanks for the response. Do you have the MP-8 Reticle? I'm trying to find out if the dot would cover up a prarie dog at 600 yards. Some dots are nice, others cover up targets completely. Thanks again for the help. Michael

i am another IOR fan. i have the same optic as bruce and i LOVE it! i can only compare it to my friends leupy (i am not sure which model) but the IOR is definitely more clear and much brighter in low light. thumb.gif

i do think the dot will cover up a PD at 600 yards, but we dont' have PD's, so i can't be certain. laugh.gif
