Would I be out of place If I asked the members of this forum what make and models of 10s they own(ed)?

At present I own five 10s
1)The SA linkless 10 (two tone);
2)The SA Omega ;
3)The DW Patriot (two tone);
4)the DW Razorback; and
5)A Smith 610 (unfluted 6").

I have owned 1)a delta;2)an auto ordinance 1927-a1;3) a colt elite 10/40;4)the Smith 610s(no dash) in 5" and 6.5";4)Ruger Blackhawk Buckeye Convertable;5)a Star megastar;6)a Smith 1006 as well as 6)a two tone omega. Never owned a witness or Javalina longslide--or a Bren.

My 10's are much smaller in quality and quantity but I like 'em.

I have a Compact Witness blued, a Caspian build with thompson/AO slide & 6 inch Match barrel, and a G-20 w/ Nights.

I don't have a current count. I usually have 10mm's in route. It would be easier to do this the other way.

I don't have:
A S&W 1046
4 of the 6 possible Bren varients.
A DW CCO or Cbob and the pointman.
4 of the obsucre limited custom shop Colt 10mm's
A 10 mm Thompson.
A D-Max 10mm
The long slide and short slide Wyoming Arms, (7" and 4")
A Springfield 10mm, (standard 1911 config. not linkless or omega).

I think I have everything else.

PS If anyone has anything on the "don't have" list for sale please let me know. Thanks

Hombre. are we just a tad into the D.W. 's. Don't blame you in the least. I have the full size PT two Tone. I AM drooling over the Patriot Commander Two Tone. , Stainless in November will have to do. Not many two tone patriots out there at all

Yeah, I guess the collection is a little "heavy" in the Dan Wesson end!
After I got my first RZ (number 24X), I thought I would try to find one of the "first 150" guns without the FCS. I bought a slightly used one, but a couple months later found one NIB really cheap, so I couldn't pass it up. RZ #4X came with the CCO as a matching mumbers set. I had only purchased the PT-C Commander because I had given up hope on finding a CCO when the CZ buyout occured. (It was a local gun my dealer had been sitting on for months.) Guess I should have been more patient. I like the PT-C, but had concerns about the blue frame showing wear during concealed carry, so, I bought the all stainless CBOB, (about a week before I was able to buy the CCO- that whole "patience" thing again!)
Kind of funny for a guy who had no experience with the 10mm untill about two years ago! These things are addicting!!

Sold my first blued Delta in '89 when I fell on hard times. Since then I rebuilt my collection.

Glock 20-'93, seven high caps. I live in CA so this is still a big deal

- Colt Woodsman Match Target 3rd Series (99.9% condition)
- High Standard Victor (Hamden) (99.9% condition)
- Ruger Mark III, 5.5" bull barrel.(shoulda got the Mark II Gov.Target Model)
- Browning Buckmark Bullseye Target
My wet dream gun is a MINT condition High Standard Trophy w/ 7 1/2" fluted barrel. And an S&W Model 41. Of course, my wife will neuter me if I buy those.

Colt Delta Elite, one of my choices for daily carry. About to have a bobtail.
Colt Delta Elite, trying to make into a hunter with a 6" longslide.
Colt Ultra Ten, a custom shop job that is a safe queen.
Kimber Target Stainless II, currently awaiting a BCP rebuild.
IAI Javelina 7" longslide, a perfect hunter, if properly rebuilt.

Glock 29, with a grip reduction. Another choice for daily carry.

S&W 610 4", but I think I just sold it to a friend.
Ruger Blackhawk 10mm/38-40, NIB.



There'd be more, but California is a challenge for the collector.

G20, green Meprolights.
G29, Meprolights with green rear and orange front, Pearce mag grip extensions, just removed LaserAim internal laser.
Witness Hunter converted from SA to DA/SA.

Planned eventually: G20 and 29 with rails, smaller Witnesses. (Though I've heard bad things about the Witness 10mm compacts.)

(I thought the laser made a nice training device for drawing and pointing from the hip; draw and turn on the laser to see where you're pointing. It wasn't useful to me as an actual aiming device, though.)

Been a while since you posted this but I hope you see this. I was wondering if you did that Caspian build yourself, or if someone did it for you. I don't know much about gunsmithing and I was curious if it is difficult to build one yourself. I was on the Caspian site the other day and thought it would be nice to build a Caspian with a stainless frame and one of their damascus slides for those occasions when I feel like "dressing up"

Oh, and right now all I have is a Smith 1006 and a Smith 1066, but I am looking to expand. Several project guns I have thought about along with the Caspian are a Gp100 3 inch fixed sight revolver that I was going to send off to Clement's custom guns for conversion, and maybe trying to manufacture myself a Smith 1016

That Dan Wesson Global Hunter is awesome...

I really like the light rail because when I'm hiking solo out of the bush after dark I have my Surefire 9P flash light and head lamp going and I also have a Glock Tactical light that I put onto my G20.

When your the only one around for 20 miles it feels good to have as much compact high intensity light that a I can get.

Yes I did the build myself. The hardest part is the Plunger tube. The slide is also difficult if you don't have patience. If I build another it will be with out power tool of any sort. Thanks for asking. Always take it to a Full Gun Smith or do the full battery of safety checks. First time out only load 1 in the mag then go to two for the first 20 rounds or so.

I got word last Thrusday that my STI 6" Edge has arrived in country and I should have it by the end of this week. I ordered it in August and when it arrives I'll post a picture and show my custom serial number as well. I think you'll get a rise out of it

I've ordered a Wicked Grips set of grips for my Kimber Stainless Target II like the grips on the Gemini Custom Caspian Slide Shot Show gun of 2006. So I think I can say I have 2 - 10's now, in that I've got one in posession, paid for the other which is in transit. I'm getting a little antsy after waiting so long.

Have a wide selection of handguns. When I shot my first 10mm I was immediately addicted. I now spend all my time searching out 10mm info. Got a couple more I'm looking at. Love these big Smiths.

Wish list is an 1911 longslide and a Bobtail Commander. After reading about the GP100 convertions, I think one of those would be pretty awsome as well!

Only have a G20 for now. I plan to add a Delta Elite, a G29, and possibly a 1006. I sold my IAI Javelina 5". I just didn't like the gun itself.

Not hard at all, the only problem is the feed lips are for a 45 and they are too wide, I just tapped em closer together until the rounds seemed to sit at the right height and angle and then tried em out, first try worked fine so I made the others match, it wasn't hard really... The Hahn Block (I got it from Brownells) takes care of everything else, it slides in the magwell from the top and becomes your mag catch and spacer. There was someone selling heavy buffers for the 45 too and I'd advise you use the heaviest buffer you can get. I have access to a machine shop so I made one myself out of stainless steel and melted some lead into it to get the weight as high as possible (you lose the shifting weights of a standard buffer but it gets your cycle time right and reduces the impact on the plastic lower). I think I still have the drawing I made the part from if you'd like a copy.

In the posts on AR15.com that I got all my info from Cav Arms said they hadn't tried the 10mm and weren't sure if it would work so they wouldn't/couldn't recommend it but they said if you broke the lower they'd replace it under their warrantee for like $30 or something as is their standard policy I believe.

I however have had no problems with it... I haven't shot it alot maybe 400-500 rounds thru it... Accuracy is great at 25yrds and I have no problem hitting the 12"X12" metal plate at 100yrds. I tend to stick with my 556 AR's since I have alot of cheaper ammo for em...

Heres some average chrony data...

165gr Golden Sabre Double Tap 1691fps
180gr Gold Dot Double Tap 1548fps
200gr XTp Double Tap 1312fps
180gr UMC 1240fps (got 1024 form a G20 on the same day)
175gr STHP 1514fps (got 1199 from a G20 on the same day)

I get about 1500fps with a modest (9gr load) of Longshot and 180gr bullets. Based on these numbers this thing is hitting at 100yrds with the same energy as a Glock 20 at the muzzle with the same ammo, and is comparable to a 40S&W at the muzzle at 150yrds. And it shoots flat enough that when sighted in at 125yrds its only 3" high at 75yrds and 4" low at 150yrds. Why don't I shoot this more often .

I just have one. My Glock G20SF w/M6X & nights. I have a 6" LWD barrel for it that I use for hunting boar & deer. I would like to have another 10mm, but I haven't seen a used one (or new one other than Glock) in any of my local gun stores in years. I'd like a S&W 610 if I could find one.

I only own one, my one pistol to be exact. My Grand father taught me one important lesson "Fear the man who only owns one gun. For he knows how to use it"

It is a Glock 20, with a NY 1 trigger, and tritium/fiber optic sights. I just ordered a 6" slide and barrell for it. Also I have a 22 conversion for it. So I could practice constantly with the same gun.

At the moment, I have only 1 10mm, a Beretta 96FS Brigadier Inox. I'm not sure that I want another 10mm. As much as I like it, it seams like a caliber that you only need one gun in. I pretty much limit my, "more then one gun per caliber" to 9mm, .22LR and a few rifle rounds, and that's mostly for recreational reasons.

Just two - a Kimber Eclipse and a Colt Series 80 that I had converted from .38 Super to 10mm. That last gun is an on-going project as it doesn't quite work right yet. I think it's still breaking in. But it's getting there!
I had a Glock 20 for a while, but decided it wasn't for me.

gmarti4006, Welcome to 10mmTalk!

Sounds like you're off to a Glock start, I mean a GOOD start! The 6" barrel will make for a nice hunting piece within a 100 yards.

Get some time with that thing to see how it shoots and understand the functions of the Glock. I don't know how much you know about guns? So I'll say remember that the semi auto reloads itself as it is fired as long as there are rounds in the magazine. Practice proficentcy while handling it safely.

There is NO DE-COCKER for a Glock.

There is no second strike capabilities with the glock safe action, by that I mean if the trigger is pulled and the striker goes into the firing position and the round doesn't fire the trigger will not cock the striker to fire again, until the slide is racked back to pre cock the striker.

Thank you for that welcome Shadow. I have owned a 4006 for about 6 yrs now and have become quite proficient with it. I was competely satisfied with my 40 until I shot my dad's G20 and was blown away. Needless to say, I took it off his hands and went with Glockmeister for all my aftermarket parts except for the front sight. I also added a Hogue Handall and was impressed with the difference it made in felt recoil. I have a couple of go to loads I settled on (Hornady 155 gr) but am extremely interested in Double Tap. Do you have any experience with CorBon? What would you say between Hornady and CorBon? Great site and thank you for your help. I am definitely hooked on the real 40!!

Your welcome gmarti4006, I have several of the S&W 10XX series, the 1006 was my first since March/1990. I have been hooked ever since. I recently picked up a Glock 29 and have been comparing loads from it and the S&W's.

I load all of my own ammo for everthing I shoot...10mm, 40S&W, 9mm, 25ACP, 38/357, 44spl/mag, 30-30. 30'06, .308Win, 12Ga. I cast for all except the 25acp. The only factory 10mm's I purchased were Winchester Black Talon 200gr. still have 19 of the 20rounds, use one to dispatch a wounded deer and it open up as advertised.

I have used mostly Blue Dot, but have experimented with others powders and am currently testing with Alliant Power Pistol and IMR 800X.

I have been using Hornady 180gr & 200gr XTP's and Remington 165gr and 180gr Golden Saber's for jacket hollow points besides my Lyman cast 175gr TCBB.

When i joined the forum i had a G20, now i have a Colt Ultra 10, DW RZ10, DW CBOB 10mm,S&W 1006 and i recently ordered a 10mm Hunter XLT longslide from Bob Serva at Fusion,should be here in 6 weeks, i buy all my ammo from Doubletap(just got in on the 10% discount for forum members).So i guess you could say i have drank the 10mmTalk.com Kool-Aid

I just joined but have been shooting 10mm for a few years now. I have a Kimber Eclipse Custom II and an EAA Witness Elite Limited, both of which I love to shoot. I also am saving for a Dan Wesson PM7 and if Colt does come out with the Delta Elite, I'll have to save my cash and get one of those also.

Just a 4" S&W model 610, fluted with a chamfered cylinder. I love it to death and it's fun to shoot cheap .40 S&W out of.

I just picked up yesterday my second 10mm.

Currently own:

Glock 20sf with adjustable sights.

Plans are a 6" LW barrell and possibly the new Burris Fastfire setup where it replaces the rear sight.

I will use this for target shooting and hunting. I don't plan to use it for ccw or home defense.


Previously owned:

S&W 1006. I still regret selling that one.

Future plans:

1911 variant. Possibly a new Delta Elite or a Dan Wesson. I'm leaning towards the Dan Wesson since it is a Series 70 pistol.

I am fairly new to guns all together but got my first 10mm in the fall of 2008. Since I am a college student I can't afford a whole lot and from all the talk the best thing I found was the Beretta Px4 Storm. So far it has been good and it kicks less than my friends 9mm.

Hello everyone, new member here.
Currently I own eight 10mm's. I have five S&W 1066's, a Witness "Limited", a factory custom non-bobtailed Dan Wesson Commander with low mount Bomar's which have yellow rear and green front Trijicon inserts, a 4" pre-safety S&W 610 that is factory marked "10mm Classic" on the barrel. According to S&W it is the only one marked as such, in private hands. One other exists, but the factory kept it in house.
I have a Fortis "Special Forces Light" and a Witness "Stock" on my to buy list.
I have one of the 1066 for sale elsewhere for $750, eventually I will list it here.
The 10mm is my hands down favorite semi auto cartridge, by far!

I have two 10s. Both EAA Tanfanglio. One is a wonder finish full size steel that I bought used for about $330. The other is a EAA full size polymer that I bought NIB for 329. Had a real ftf issue with the steel, but after reading all the posts I could about that, I cleared it up I think. I prefer the steel at this point, but I've only shot about 175 rounds or so through the Poly. I like the fact that the magazines are interchangeable. I am pretty happy with them both at this point, as long as I can continue to customize them and make them more accurate.

I brand new to the 10mm crowd but I jumped in quickly with a Glock 20 OD and 29SF a few months apart. I have never been a happier pistol shooter/owner! Finally have my Ted Nugent pistols.... cool!

I am the owner of 2 10mm autos. 1) S&W 1006 that I bought back in 1991 & I have put many 1000's of rounds thru it. To describe it in 1 word, I would say it has been awesome. Never any failures to feed or eject, & extremely accurate. Also love the fact that it is 39oz of solid stainless steel so if you were to run out of ammo, you can use it to hit someone with & probably knock them out. It will consistently use any type of 10mm JHP or FMJ of any weight with absolutely no problems. It is like the Energizer bunny- just keeps going & going... 2) Bren Ten Standard Model- the prize of my small but growing handgun collection. The "safe queen" I have 5 10mm mags for it & they all fit & function flawlessly the 1 time I did use 1 box of 50 PMC 170gr JHPs thru it. 10 rounds thru each of the 5 mags. I wish that I could use it more but I am afraid of anything happening to it at all, such as a dreaded cracked slide or frame & it could not be repaired. I am very,extremely patiently waiting to see if the Vltor Fortis' ever make it to production because I am going to buy 2 of them, the Standard Model & a "Viced" version w/ the hard chromed slide. I will then use them with the full power 10mm ammo as they claim it will be able to handle a steady diet of the hottest ammo as the 10mm was originally designed for. Long live Sonny Crockett & the BREN TEN!!!!

I have owned three M610's. First two were excellent but this is tthe one.My current is the keeper of the trio. It's a dash 1, 6in.bbl. with an unfluted cylinder. It rings the gong at 200yds.
My 2nd is an EAA full size with the wonder finish. Haven't broken it yet.

I just ordered my first Glock 20 today, it's a Compensated model, and I should have it by Tuesday or Wednesday. I've already ordered my TruGlo TFOs, Pachmayr Grip, Streamlight TLR-1 C4, 4 spare mags, and 2 http://www.midwesthuntersoutlet.com/item/189282___Super_V_Magazine_Extensio.aspxs.

In mid February, when I get the money, I'm also going to be getting a 6" drop-in barrel (non-compensated, of course) and a few hundered rounds from Double Tap Ammo.

Be posting the first round of pictures as soon as I get the first wave, and more pictures once I get the new barrel.

Well my next is on order...VLTOR's Bren Ten "Vice Model" with the hard chrome slide and SS frame if the distributor is correct we should see these in July 2010. Only time will tell.
