I've seen quite a few new members struggling to post pictures here, and
I can understand some of the frustration. We attempt to use the latest and greatest
software to keep this board running smoothly, so there might be some features you're not
used to, or some format that looks different.

Here's how to get the pics of your latest new heater, or of grandpappy's
war rifle online for the rest of us to drool over.

First, you need someplace to put your picture online. This is called a photo host.
Some people use Photobucket.com, some have purchased a Patron membership
here, and have a photo gallery. Whatever you use, you'll need to get your pics
hosted online somewhere. Once it's uploaded, you'll need to tell the board
software where to look for it, so it displays in your post. This is easier than it sounds.

First, locate the picture online. Once you've found it, right click on it, then select "Properties".
Highlight the "Address (URL)", and select "Copy". It will look something like this:

So, now you're ready to start posting your pics. When you're replying to a topic, or starting
your own, look just above the text box. You'll see a button of a image, like so:

Now, click on that image button, and a box will pop up. It will be asking for the URL of the picture, or
where on the internet it can be found. That box will look like this:

My apologies to all those who can actually use photo-editing software correctly, I know I
butchered up these screen-shots. Hopefully though, everyone will be able to understand the
general principle. cool.gif

Edited to upgrade image of new site.

I cant see anything from photobucket.com at work. When ever anyone uses it, I gotta wait until I get home. I'm currently experimenting with imagehosting.us...we'll see.

But then I got my Addax Gas piston AR. Sure I still have to keep a few small replacement parts, but I'll let you kick me in the balls for every malfunction I have with my Addax GPU, thats how reliable it is!

So far we are at, hold on, let me check..... ZERO!

Make sure that you close the brackets at the end (highlighted in blue).

Normally, the GUI will do it for you, but I have accidentally deleted it before.

If you are trying to copy the properties of an image from another website, and the address is as long as the Gettysburg Address, it will say that.

I've noticed, shorter properties/addresses work without a hitch.

I'm using this because I was trying to find one to post for j-dub a while back.

How do you get a smaller properties or it to end differently. Doesn't photobucket add those numbers so the pic can be found or can I change it? Sorry for being less than computer savy

Photos should end in a jpg, gif, png, etc. The numbers default the image to dynamic and that is not safe for the site and they are not allowed, create a thread with the link to your image and PM me the link and I will see if I cannot get the image working for you.

photobucket should be fine and you can shortcut it, if you check below each image at photobucket you will see a box that already has the [img] tags in it just highlight all of the text in that box, right click you mouse, left click copy, then come here, left click in the reply box, right click and left click paste
