A couple of other options are from Smith&Wesson, old 3rd gen 10xx models or a 610.
But wihtout those, G20!

My vote (is doh.gif) for the G20 because I don't know what your goals are. I think in general, a Glock is a hard tool to beat, no matter what you want to do with a handgun. If you want a worry free, no docter visits. 135 grain to 230 grain projectile delivery device for hunting, personal defence, and recreation the 20s great.

hm, that didn't work like I though it would.

Let us know what you end up with.

Satch - just about any shop should be able to order you one, but you might have to go to either a larger or more specialized shop to find one sitting around. I don't they last long under the glass. Some people know what they want but are hesitant to order one, so when they see one in person it's headed home.

My vote is Kimber Stainless II Target. That is one nice gun. How come that isn't on the list?

Of the limited choices on the poll, DW RZ 10mm.

My personal preference would be a Fusion 10mm though.

Sorry I did not get them all in the poll. But I think the major platforms are in there. If you don't see your 1911 in there just vote Dan Wesson and clarify in your post. Thanks.

Cause I didn't remember every 1911 that will shot 10mm. So I listed the one I could remember. Think of it as generic 1911 10mm.

I like the 1911 platform, as always, because it has soul. The Glock is just a souless tool, and the Witness just doesn't have the sex appeal.

Okay, my vote honestly goes to the 10mm 1911... in my case, the DW/CZ Razorback. I'm a hunter..... and my RZ helped me take my first handgun deer. In my opinion, only accurate guns are interesting and although the Glocks are almost as accurate as my RZ, I don't SHOOT them as well. Choose what you shoot best. Also, I'd probably choose the G20 with a 6" aftermarket barrel if I were gonna reload some hotrod stuff....

That being said, I've since sold off my G20 but will NEVER sell my G29. There is no finer compact hunting backup or "Flyfishing in Alaska" gun made, IMHO. Nothing like 10+1 of Doubletap 200+ grain 1300+fps loads for when you really need power in your pocket.

I prefer 1911's these days and my 24/7 CCW is a Kimber 10. My vote here is for a 1911.

But, ...the G20 can be fitted with a 6" barrel to put it in another whole level of power.
If you want a 1911 with a 6"' you need to pay bigger bucks. The G20 is a quick and dirty way to get set up...and cheap.
And there are a few custom jobs with 7" barrels, from Austria. But I forgot the company.

I couldn't vote. I have multiples of all, except
only one M29. It's like choosing which one of
your children that you love the most.

If you have large hands, the Glocks are nice,
light, reliable and durable.

The 1911's fit the hand well and just feel great
when shooting.

The witnesses are solid, economical to aquire
and easy shooting.

Guess my personal favorites are the S&W 610's.

I carry the Colt 1911 the most, so I'll go back and vote that one.

Depends what you are going to do with it....
Beat it up hiking in the woods? Glock 20
Carry it concealed? Dan Wesson CBOB or GLOCK 29
Shoot it a lot? Colt Delta Elite or Dan Wesson Razorback
Shoot it A LOT? S&W 1006/610
Kimber Eclipse IMO is the purtyest [sic] of the bunch

I have no experience with the Witnesses (except from the Excam/FIE days and not in 10mm)

If you think you may in time then why waste the money on another gun?

Oh wait, I know, so you can sell me your G20 for $200. bigsmile.gif
