Hey guys, Slinger646 here. I was invited to this forum by jchtrh. I'm a long time AK nut.

The best deal going now is from K-VAR

http://www.k-var.com/shop/home.php?cat=353

Their Saigas are just at 500.00 which is a steal for 100% Russian rifles. These rifles have chrome lined barrels, dimpled receivers and polymer furniture. If you look at recent SGN ads, you'll see their list was $800+. I cant build one this nice, nor can I convert a "hunter" Saiga for $505.00

My opinion is they ordered too many for the panic and are now setting on inventory.

The WASR 10/63 riles seem to use Romaninan Non G kits built on WASR receivers

Good to see you joined! Welcome to the Armory and thank you for sharing!

Looks like a great deal. It is the same link and recommendation that VTD posted, so you know it's good!

James

Yes, its like comparing a Colt AR to a knockoff AR. They both do the same thing, but only one can be called the Original.

They are made on the same tooling that produces military AKMs.

These same guns were fetching over 800 a few weeks ago until K-var knocked the bottom out.

You will not be disappointed in picking the Ruskie over the WASR.

If you want a cheap blaster, get a WASR, but for the value, you cant beat the Saiga.

The fit and finish are superior, There are no issues of FSB cant, it has all the "evil" features, and True Russian Proofs.

Try Classic Arms. I've not yet bought from them, but they come highly reccomended. I spoke to the owner about the canted sight issue and his response was "if its not right, send it back and we'll send you a new rifle". You can't get much fairer than that . Their prices are good, and for around $500 they throw in a soft case with mag pockets, a couple of extra mags and a sling. The url is http://www.classicarms.us/
I haven't done business with these guys, I'm just going by word of mouth and a phone call, so caveat emptor, but they do have a great selection and lots of ammo and mags.

Are these set up to take AK mags? If so are they compliant with 922r? The Saigas go for $350-$450 for their "sporter". It just takes a little dremel work and four to six US parts to make them take AK mags legally. Are these already converted?
Thanks

They are 100% compliant & as Slinger said, MUCH better than any WASR. For the price go w/ the Saiga from Arsenal(sgl21). These are ready to rock w/ the 30`s.
