I'm in the market for AK, and i have had very good luck with Top Gun supply. I bought a FS 2000 from them and they worked with my FFL and me very well. Here is a link to the AK. It does come with a sling, bayonet, and 2, 30 round mags. That could explain the slightly higher price of 500 dollars.
Also what does it mean by WASR 10/63?

Its the style of the AK-47. I'm wondering why an imported AK-47 is so cheap on their website... But if you trust them, We have a century AK-47 and it works fine. Built solid.

Did some research, Apparently its a WASR-10 with the magwell grinded out to accept 30 round double stack mags. Might be why its so cheap, Id be careful with that one. Look for some other Century AK-47's... I got a GP 1975 for 525$

Thanks Watson. I'm going to ask them if the receiver is milled out. What does everyone else think

I've had teriffic service from Top Gun Supply as well. They are "Johnny on the spot" with emails and answering any questions. Outstanding customer service.

Watson is right about them grinding out the magwells. The Romanians use single stack mags over there so in order to use double stack, the magwell needs modification. Many folks complain of "mag wobble" due to the mod. I haven't read that it affects feeding but is more a cosmetic issue. I have not experienced that in mine, though.

ETA: That Henderson deal looks pretty hard to pass up! I'd go with it in a heartbeat, especially since they check for canted sights before they sell it to you. I have not seen a service like that and these guns are hit and miss when it comes to that. Also since VTD mentioned they're good folks.

The Romanians made them single stack for export I believe.

Some mag wobble is fine but occasionally the guys at Century go a little overboard when they open them up.

As for Henderson.....they don't charge much more for the "certified" rifles ($395 vs. $389) and I think it would be well worth it over rolling the dice somewhere else. $6 well spent.

I have purchased several rifles from them and had them build me another.

Ron and his crew are easy to work with and they back up their product 100%.

Okay i'll probably end up buying this Wasr/10. Just a couple questions about modifying the ak. Is it hard to get the compensator off of it. Also will these accessories fit fine on this ak. I'm sure they will but if anybody has experience with ak's and tapco i would love to hear from them.

The muzzle attachment that comes on the WASR is simply threaded on and held in place with a spring loaded pin. Just depress the pin and you should be able to spin it right off.

Any muzzle attachment with a 14x1 LH thread should work fine.

All of the accessories you listed should fit just fine as well.

With the buttstock.....don't be too surprised if you have to do some minor fitting to get it in place. I've had to take a file and a mallet to stocks before.

For future reference....pretty much any AK accessory that says it will fit a "stamped" AK ought to work with your gun. smile.gif

I'm not a big fan of forward rail systems on AKs. The one you linked to would be particularly worthless to me as it has top and bottom rails but no side rails.

That top rail is polymer and will not be stable enough to expect an optic to hold zero on. A better option is an Ultimak.

Forward vertical grips, unless they are mounted all the way forward and shortened tend to get in the way of magazine changes.

I would go with a K-var brand stock and lower handguard and an ultimak top rail for a small red dot up front. You can also mount an offset light mount from the top rail.

IMO that would be a far more practical and higher quality way to go (albeit a little more expensive).

So your thinking you would go with a stock like this, and a optic mount like this one. I assume that i dont need the one with gas holes, like this one.

That Ultimak should be fine.

Copes has the K-var stock sets. Better CS and probably cheaper shipping. Great place to pick up spare magazines too.

The one you were looking at on K-vars site appears to be for milled guns and would not fit your rifle.

With the standard kvar sets, you can choose from either warsaw length or NATO length. The NATO ones will be a little longer. I prefer the Warsaw length but I'm 5'10"....if you're bigger with longer arms, the NATO might be better.

But then I got my Addax Gas piston AR. Sure I still have to keep a few small replacement parts, but I'll let you kick me in the balls for every malfunction I have with my Addax GPU, thats how reliable it is!

So far we are at, hold on, let me check..... ZERO!

Hey guys, Slinger646 here. I was invited to this forum by jchtrh. I'm a long time AK nut.

The best deal going now is from K-VAR

http://www.k-var.com/shop/home.php?cat=353

Their Saigas are just at 500.00 which is a steal for 100% Russian rifles. These rifles have chrome lined barrels, dimpled receivers and polymer furniture. If you look at recent SGN ads, you'll see their list was $800+. I cant build one this nice, nor can I convert a "hunter" Saiga for $505.00

My opinion is they ordered too many for the panic and are now setting on inventory.

The WASR 10/63 riles seem to use Romaninan Non G kits built on WASR receivers
