I haven't fired mine yet, but I recently picked up an MSAR STG E4 (uses M16 mags), and it's a great little gun. It has a 20" barrel, but overall it's only 30", onpar with an M4 with buttstock collapsed. I agree with TigerStripe that it feels like an extension of one's body. I have mostly dealt with AKs and M16 in my years of shooting, and this little guy is amazing. It has a folding fore-grip up front with little finger grooves that is very comfortable, but I put a bipod between the fore grip and the pistol grip (because there's a little rail there, and I wanted to test it out; I'll also be using the bipod for zeroing, but that's all), and when you have your shooting hand on the grip, and your other hand (in my case, the left) on the "pistol grip guard," it's still extremely comfortable. It's sort of like using the magazine-well of an AR15 for a foregrip as far as comfort and feeling go.
I will admit the magazine release feels a little awkward. Dave Robertson of Microtech Small Arms Research (MSAR) is sending me an extended magazine release, so I'll see how that works out. I'm sure with shooting gloves, and the rush of the range, mag changes won't be much of a hassle.
