OK, I think I got it...

I think I was estimating height wrong...

I can get close... but still its tough...

I can't get the windage figured for the life of me though...

read the wind socks--it takes a lot of practice, but it's do-able. You'll need to understand full value wind (coming at 90 degrees) and half value wind (45 degrees). You'll even need quarter value (23 degrees) wind when making the really long shots.

**GA just said to think about the boss fight in COD4 where you had to snipe the guy--adjusting windage and elevation wink.gif

Gotcha... gunna take a heck of a lot more playing with to figure it all out, but I am starting to understand. thumbsup.gif

Funny thing is I used to think mildot scopes were ranged. ie zero crosshairs at 100 yards, next line is 150 yards, next 200, etc,.. animlol.gif

But then I got my Addax Gas piston AR. Sure I still have to keep a few small replacement parts, but I'll let you kick me in the balls for every malfunction I have with my Addax GPU, thats how reliable it is!

So far we are at, hold on, let me check..... ZERO!

check out Horus Vision scopes the made it all oooooooooooh so much easier, the demo for their ranging system kinda helps understand mildot ranging a bit easier too, combine it with their ATraq ballistics software and yer in shooting nirvana, now I just gotta save up the cash for My own instead of playin with other folks oh yea.gif
BTW I know this is a very old thread but wth when somethin new comes out ya gotta give stuff an update flea.gif

Picked up a SWFA SS 3x9-42 scope with mildot & it's mil/mil so that's going to be way faster and easier than moa/mil, but the scope also came with the mildot master so I can cheat if needed laugh.gif laugh.gif

Those SS are some damn good scopes brother. I just freaking wish they made the 16 and 20 powers a varible instead of fixed. Its great for target shooting and some pdog killing, but anything else it kinda sucks.
