Yep, been eyeing one of those for the last few months. They aren't that expensive, and from what I have read are accurate at long range. I want one, just gotta scratch up the cash.

I just learned about them yesterday. When you consider the price of a 50 BMG or a rifle chambed in those other 2 calibers they're offering this is actually pretty affordable. One big advantage I see the rifle having over the AR is the better triggers for rifles vs. an AR.

Buying an upper is one thing but ammo sure is high priced. The best that I've seen in SGN recently is over $3 per round.

May boss bought a 50bmg a couple of years ago. I think he paid around $5 a round.

My boss went with a BOHICA upper on his dedicated AR, and he always comments, "It's a 6pack of PBR per shot for milsurp ammo; BudLight for match grade."

I just tell people $5 for a Barrett round or $3.50 for milsurp, these things are expensive to shoot (duhh) but sooo fun.

I have two Bohica uppers are I am very happy. Both shoot close to 1 MOA with ball ammo. Considering ball ammo is designed for MG use and to provide a cone of fire, I am happy with that level iof accuracy. Others have acheived 3/4 minute accuaracy at 1000 yards with match reloads. Not bad for a $1300 upper. And no recorded ser/no!

This doesn't cause any structural problems with a regular 5.56 lower receiver? I have to say, that is awesome!!

Freakin awesome - I'm getting on the list!
I already have a Bohica 50 single shot upper with a single shot Bohica Stainless Steel Lower...
Still- nothing beats a Barrett if you got the 8K.

Seems like a really cool idea, but I would have to see some actual test results before considering a purchase. I wonder how reliable the action is, especially in regards to feeding into the chamber.

The AR lower would only house the fire control group and the stock. If the Bohica upper works on an AR lower I don't see why this one would have any more problems.

Oh I know what the lower's purpose is in this circumstance.thumb.gif I'm talking about the feeding from the magazine in regards to the bolt action. Other bolt-action AR-type .50 BMG rifles I have seen (Cobb) have been fed like a typical AR, magazine from the magazine well with ammo stacked vertically.

Understood. The Sten and Sterling SMGs and the Pederson LMG all feed from the side. I haven't used any of them so...

Safety Harbor Firearms has been doing this for years.

We have had several Safety Harbor rifles and our customers have been very happy with them. Price is excellent and they are very accurate - more so than most of the semi-auto Barretts. Very well built.

Couldn't find a photo of the SHTF 50 upper quickly, but the SHF R50 here uses same mag setup.
