Howdy fellow Americans...I have recently purchased some 130grn solid copper hollow point boolets for my beloved G20. I would like to push these pills as fast as possible through my 6" LoneWolf tube to do some ballistics testing. I can't find any data for this size/type of bullet.

Has anyone ever heard of a load for this??? If so, I'd love to see what these things can do.

By the way, how can I attach pics to my posts? Newbie here...

Above my pay grade, as they say. I was going to suggest a correlation between data, but the data points are so far dispersed that I would have to say it would really just be guessing.

Barnes has some data on their site for a 140 grain solid in 40S&W using Silhouette and AA#5. I guess those would be starting places. Unfortunately Barnes has no 10mm data.

Magtech makes the bullet, I bought them at a local gun shop for $35 per 100. The idea of 16-1800fps in my 6" barrel sounds like a hoot...I let you know how things work out

I would contact Magtech and see if they have any data, or can refer you to a source.

TexasDiesel525, welcome.gif to 10mmTalk!

The 135 grain data which are posted from the Nosler 135 may need to be dropped some...those 130 gr solid copper bullets may be slightly longer than the other 135 gr bullets stuffed with lead cores, therefore the extra length will occupy some of the space and tend to raise the pressure.

Look for Nosler 135 gr data Accurate Arms Powder may have and start low and work up.

Try this site for data...http://guitarsalon.biz/10mm/10mmdata.htm

Best regards and enjoy the form...

Thanks for your input,

I called Magtech and they told me that they import the bullets from Brazil, and do not have any reloading recipes...I will be using IMR 800x starting at 9.5grains with CCI 350 primers and new DoubleTap Brass.

By the way...Does the legendary Mike McNett still lurk in this forum? Ive been a fan of his ammo for years. If so, What are your thoughts for the above experiment? Any suggestions?

I'm really looking forward to reading the results of your work here. I've been wanting to see what the 140gr Barnes X would do when pushed fast. It just seems that if Doubletap can push the 155gr X bullet at 1400fps then I wonder if it would be possible to push the 140gr at maybe 1500-1550fps?

Keep us posted.

These Magtech copper bullets, are they true solids or compressed powder? Any link to Magtech's info or data on their construction.

I agree this is VERY interesting.

Do NOT use magnum primers with 800-X until you have lots of experience with that particular load using normal primers. You are trying to create a new load (at least "new" in the sense of having no load book to directly rely on). Magnum primers love to make cases loaded with 800-X rupture and make a mess in dangerous fashion.
