I agree with you ive had some real tight groups with HS-7. With a SIERRA 135 Gr JHP 11.0 GRS,CCI LPP,FEDERAL BRASS,OAL 1.250,HODGDON'S 26TH MANUAL,1408 FPS. With a SIERRA 150 GR JHP 11.5 GRS,CCI LPP,FEDERAL BRASS,OAL 1.250 1325 FPS. With a 180 GR FMJ,10.1 GRS,CCI LPP FEDERAL BRASS,OAL 1.250,from the SPEER # 12 MANUAL,1095 FPS. With the same bullet 10.3 Grs,CCI LPP,FEDERAL BRASS,OAL 1.260,HODGDON MANUAL,1143 FPS. All of my loads were fired from my full size WITTNESS. The word is HODGDON is no longer makeing HS-7, so get all that you can find. I for one hate to see this find powder taken of the marketHi, all. I'm an experienced reloader, but have not done a lot of work with 10mm outside my "favorite" load, which is 9.4g of HS7 pushing a 200g ENC JHP. I've had outstanding accuracy in all arms - a Colt DE, Kimber Target, S&W 10mm, Glock 20.
Just interested to hear some other opinions on HS7 & the 10mm.
Thanks in advance.

yeah Taos ive had a few good loads with HS-6 in 10MM.With a SIERRA 135 Gr JHP 9.7 GRS,CCI LPP FEDERAL BRSS,OAL 1.250,HODGDON MANUAL,1386 FPS. With a SIERRA 150 GR JHP,FEDERAL BRASS,OAL 1.250,CCI LPP,HODGDON MANUAL,1320 FPS.I have not tried HS-7. Looks promising. Have you guys tried HS-6 in the 10mm? It is listed in a few of the manuals. Seems to give velocities close to HS-7. HS-6 which is one of my favorites in the 45ACP.
With a 180 GR FMJ,9.0 GRS,WIN LPP,WIN BRASS,OAL 1.260,1148 FPS. 9.2 GRS with all the same compents brough the velocity up to 1173 FPS

Yeah Fred the LYMAN'S 47TH says just about the same thing :yes:HS-7 is the same powder as the old Winchester 571, according to Hodgdon. It's made by St. Marks Powder Company, St. Marks, FL. It's an excellent 10mm powder. In the Handloader Magazine, Issue 170, it's listed as the most accurate of the 10mm powders tested. If you have the issue, it's the Winchester 571 loads.
Hope this helps.
