I got hit with the BRD bad. I ended up having a few lowers. I have 3 in hand and 3 more on order. I use to have them wrapped in paper and put it in the safe. Sitting at my desk I saw a fedex shipping pouch and noticed I could fit a stripped lower. I doubled bad my lowers and added those little packets to keep them dry. They are now locked in my safe :)

The desiccant is complete overkill. They can't rust.

This is true indeed. But that is still a beautiful sight to behold :oh yea:

I use Wally World plastic bags and some bubble wrap to keep mine nice and mattey.

6 lowers? Are you going to be buying the uppers complete or build them as well. Looks like you have quite a bit of building to do in any case.

What make of lowers are they?

ETA: I only have complete rifles ATM, but when they are stored, they sit in my gun safe (metal cabinet). I should probably get some kind of desicant for the safe, but I haven't yet. I bought one of those silicone treated gun socks for a gun that I don't plan on using for a while, but I've been shooting all of my rifles regularly, so I haven't used the sock yet.

2 are 80% lowers - planning to make matching AR pistols.
1 JD lower with a serial number ending in my high school #. (pure luck)
2 PSA lowers on sale at Turners for Calgun members

I want to order a few more before 2014, when they require us to register new rifle purchases. I found working on guns is just as fun as my cars but much safer and cheaper.

The way you have them is just fine

At this point I need to get 8 more lowers before then. I eventually want to build all my kids one. I should just buy 10 so I can build my grandson one too when he gets old enough and you never know when you'll need a spare.

Now that I finally have a stripped lower, it's in a USPS box in the bottom of my safe along on side wall. I haven't started buying parts for the lower build yet.
