Pierce Munitions, LLC of Buffalo, NY has entered an exclusive agreement to manufacture the high performance hunting ammunition for avid hunter and music legend Ted Nugent.

Also:

Under the Nugent Brand, Pierce will manufacture the most popular calibers of hunting ammunition. They plan to produce handgun hunting ammunition in .357 magnum, 10mm, 44 magnum and 45 Long Colt as well as various hunting rifle ammunition

ATI will distribute. ATI is the company that imports the GSG line among other things.

Ted was at the SHOT show just last week and commented on his ammo... he says that it's going to be uktra fast with super killing power and that factory ammunition these days can and has surpassed the performance of handloads, and he hopes that his ammunition can compete with that factory ammunition.

SO--
Will this stuff, if it makes it to market, actually compete with the best 10mm out there? Or is it going to compete with the Federal and R-P type of watered down barely warmer than .40 S&W crap 10mm that is nothing more than a way to get overpriced brass?

Uncle Ted, is a huge 10mm fan! Hey more 10mm ammo the better! With a little luck maybe like more gun makers like Para, will get on the 10mm gun wagon! :thumb:

Thanks for posting the info!

Anything new that pertains to the 10mm is welcome news. Perhaps, the 'Nuge' maybe the catalyst, who ignites a 10mm rennaissance with the manufacturing community. I'm wondering what the price-point will be compared to Buffalo Bore, and other ammo makers. Uncle Ted's endorsement means, that the 10mm should be regarded as a viable round, not some fringe 'wildcat'. If one of the 'tupperware' companies would get on board with the ten, it would open the floodgates.

 I think that's because he's marketing his ammo as a line of hunting ammunition. In handgun, he's got only .257, 10mm, .45 Colt and .44 Magnum, I believe. The rest are all bottle neck rifle rounds.

I don't think it's a 9/.45 snub so much as the fact that most folks don't hunt with those rounds.

I don't want to judge this stuff before it hits the market, but I would imagine that this is much more a financial venture than anything that Ted Nugent actually has his hands & heart in to, but I don't really know.

That is probably right on all counts.
But I could not resist myself with the 9/45 jab! :D

Well Uncle Ted has carried his Glock for many years and on his safari (on the last day there) made a 1 shot kill on a Warthog at 110 yards IIRC using DoubleTap 135grJHP (it supplied meat to the local village he was near). I've read articles about his carrying/shooting other calibers...never EVER heard of him using a 9mm, but he's used a 45 many times but the 10 does better on ballistics/hunting and 1911's don't have the capacity he wants.

He shoots 1911's in 10mm also, he has a "rotation" of weapons and multiple 1911's in 10mm.

He shot an Axis deer on his show with a Springfield Armory long slide 6" 1911 in 10mm, he shot it several times but got it.
I am surprised with the Double Tap reference as he has shot CorBon for years and years (as I am sure he got free ammo to promote them)

He also 'sports' a 15 round, STI International 'Perfect' 10mm longslide if I'm not mistaken.

My memory isn't what it once was...It may very well have been Corbon (I was drawing a blank on ammo manufacturers) only that I do remember it was a 135 gr JHP. I very well stand corrected. Thank you. Tracy

That's the one I saw him use on a deer on his show.

He shot it at about 60 or 70 yards, had to shoot it twice, maybe three times, but took it down.
