I just received this Colt as part of a trade. According to the serial number, this is a Post-Ban Colt Government Carbine.
Even though it is a post-ban, it still has the PRE-ban accessories…. bayonet mount, flash hider, and collapsible stock. Some very knowledgeable people have told me it is a collectors’ piece. I called Colt and they said the carbine, with all the pre-ban accessories must have been designated for a governmental agency.
It is completely original (even the hand guard) and in excellent+condition. As a collectable Colt, I don’t want to use it as a shooter when someone else can appreciate it for what it is.
I'm selling it for only what it will cost me to replace it with a new Colt 6520 shooter ($995). I have this carbine listed on other sites and when it sells, I will post that information immediately. Thanks for looking.
