I just might take you up on that offer Jeff when would be a good time to get together?

I actually have a few people wanting to shoot next week. Interested? It would probably be Wed or Thur. in the late afternoon. I have CCW classes for the next 2 weekends so weekends for a while are out.

Depending on weather and dress, I always carry one of these.
Taurus PT145 Mil Pro SS
Kel Tec P11
Kel Tec P3AT
AMT Hardball 1911
Like somebody said different tool for a job.
FYI I have 2 PT145's they are great, easy to conceal, point of aim is great, Have about 1000 rnds and 500 rnds throgh them. Never a problem, have shot JHP 200 gr and 230 grain, 185 gr. SWC and 230 grain Lead RN.
I carry OWB the 145 and PT11 in a Fobus Paddle holster
Carry the 3AT in a wallet holster in back pocket
1911 IWB at 3 or 4 o clock position.
Nothing against the Glocks they are good guns just don't feel right in my hand.

You want something that's light and flat and kind of like a glock but smaller and better made. Get a Kahr CW9. Then call them and have them send you a metal mag release button for free to replace the stock plastic one, (all you have to do is tell them the plastic one is wearing out on you, and give them your address and they will send a new metal one, if they aren't put those on stock by now) After that you'll be good to go. Best CW gun out there IMO. On a side note, the glock has a plastic mag release button, but it also has plastic covered mags as well. There's a reason for that. The Kahr has metal mags, hence the need for the small (free) upgrade.

SIG P-229 (.357 sig) This is a great gun and caliber. I've put thousands of rounds through my issued sig with NO (zero) misfires, or misfeeds. The same with my CZ75B in .40 cal and my two Colt M1911A1s. I hear people talk about weapons malfunctioning and it always makes me wonder how they treat their equipment wink.gif
The only pistols I have had trouble with are Walther's PPKS .380cal and hollowpoints and an old Colt .32acp M1903.
I use Gold Dots in the SIG P-229 and Winchester Silver Tips in my .40 The best thing to do is try out as many different pistols as possible before buying, because if you don't I guarantee you'll see something you like better within a week.

I second the HK USP compact. I own a USP 40 S&W, and am looking at buying the compact as well. I like a hammer, a safety selector, a decocker and double action. I can carry cocked and locked, or DA. I like all those little buttons. Did I mention it is very ambi convenient, right down to the anbi mag release. I have only shot a couple glocks and liked them, just couldnt get used to no safety and no hammer. Its just to simple, that may be good for some, but not for me. And as for reliability, I honestly can say that I have never had a failure in the HK. I'm hoping in the future to have all three calibers in compact and full size, and a competition model as well. Just my opinion on the subject,,,,,,,,

I really like the Millennium-Pro, it has a comfortable grip, light weight design, and decent mag capacity. Not to mention the price isn't bad.

A Kimber Ultra CDP II or Springfield Micro Compact would be my choice. An XD-40sc or G27 would be worth considering also.
