Hello everyone,
I'm new to the ar group but no strnager to the tc encore. The most beneficial upgrade I have done to the platform is an oversized hinge pin which tightened the upper barrel with the reciever. I'm inquiring in regards to expanding pins for the ar platform to better tighten the upper and lower assembly. This will done on a stag 6L. Thanks Haas....

I am also a big Encore fan. Other than some family hand down rifles the Encore and my ARs are the only rifles I have. I will have to look into the expandable pis for it.

As far as the AR the only thing I know of that tightens the upper and lower are accuwedges.

They are called rear tension pins. Several companies make them.
Here's one at Brownells

I can see the interest in the tighter hinge pins but I can tell you that unless you have a huge amount of slob going on you will never see the difference in performance. Look at the High Power guys that shoot and their rifles don't tighten down like a bank vault, The sights and barrel are all in one unit and the lower just gives you something to hang on to and hold the ammo. A good trigger will go far more to help you shoot better than an upper where you have to drive the pins in and out with a brass drift.

Just my thoughts and experience for what it is worth.
