I was shooting Blazer ammo today in my Kimber Stainless II Target. I was using two different Kimber mags. On about every other mag, I was getting a failure to feed on the second round. Not every time and no other round other than the second round. Sometimes the mags were loaded with 5 rounds and sometimes seven. It was doing tis with both mags, but not every time. Any ideas?

Kimber stock magazines aren't the greatest for reliability. I used to have trouble with Blazer ammo being hard to eject from my 9mm and .45 ACP revolvers, too. The cartridge cases would expand upon firing. I personally, would try the same ammo, using a different magazine in the gun. Then try using different ammo (DT) with the Kimber magazines. See if you get the same feed jam. The Blazer ammo might have a shorter OAL, than other 10mm ammo causing your sporadic FTF. I am more inclined to believe it's the mags. Have you ever had trouble with Blazer ammo before this? I use Chip McCormick, or Metalform magazines. However, the stock Kimber mags seem to work in my .45 Gold Match II without a hitch. Has your Target II funtioned alright, before this?

It worked fine before. And this was only on the occasional second round. No other round. I think I'll try some other mags. Very strange.

One thing to try is to tap the rounds to the rear of the magazine to seat them fully to the back wall of the magazine. The second round is possibly hanging on the guides not being seated to the rear.

Good luck!

I was thinking of that after I got home. Usually I rap my mags on my hand or table before I load them, but I didn't with these.
