Is DD making their own barrels now or just relabeling?

In any case Sabre makes a top notch barrel and you can't go wrong buying them.

Daniel Defense barrels are excellent barrels. They are cold hammer forged, have government profiles, and 1/7" twists, which means they are more at home with the heavier stuff, but can shoot 55 gr ammo fine.

I would love to know where you found their barrels for that price. CONFUS12.gif

Wow, nice write up at Brownells. I still like the Sabre, but it looks like a good deal there. Hard to go wrong at that price.

Ok, basically this seems to be a standard 4150 barrel as compared to a Cold Hammer Forged barrel.

The first reason I believe this is because Brownell's doesn't mention anything about CHF. Second reason is that Daniel Defense sells CHF barrels for $359 on their website.

I can't think of a logical reason for Daniel Defense to allow Brownell's to sell them that cheap.

That being said, I have never seen Daniel Defense anything fail or be low quality, so these barrels would be good to go.

As mentioned above, Brownells

Midway also has them http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productnumber=461614

Bravo Company sells them but they are showing backordered. http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Daniel-Defe.../dd%2010106.htm

I almost bit on one of these a couple weeks back (and I still may) but ordered a DPMS Sporticle assembled kit (for my TNW Billet lower) from JSE instead. It was a decision based mostly on price/convenience/time.

At $170 I'm still thinking of picking one up for my next build. I read on another forum that these are NOT the cold hammer forged barrels but for the $$$ that's a fair trade off IMO.
