i saw another canoe last week that had these, and i knew instantly i needed them as well. canoe seats are very uncomfortable to begin with, no doubt about that. we've been using seat cushions that work ok, but they slide around and they don't give any back support. these things are gonna be awesome! not only do they take about 5 seconds to install, they are secure and provide adjustable back support. not only is this good for general comfort, it will allow stronger strokes to be taken while paddling. before, if i paddled too hard, i would litterally slide around on my seat. i can't wait to try them out. boogie.gif

hopefully tomorrow afternoon or sunday. thumbsup.gif

they come from Crazy Creek, and they run about $42 each.

They also use them as stadium seats. For like when you go to a football game.

I have the old Coleman plastic backed seats made for my canoe. Its nice and rigid but doesn't look near as comfortable as those.

I use the coleman seats in mine also.I thought that they were were too stiff and didnt work very well until the day that we forgot to bring them with us. I have since changed my mind and will NEVER forget to bring them ever again.
Those do look very comfortable. I have been looking for seats with a good back on them and that swivel as well. We found some different choices at Bass Pro and Cabelas but they were big money.

The type of seat built into the canoe makes a big difference. Rigid plastic or aluminum sucks. Web, boot lace and cane are all more comfortable.

The crazy creek seets are fine but Sitbackers are my prefered seat. The crazy creek wraps around you a little too much while the sitbacker has an actual frame. Of course this is a personal opinion and some liek the crazy creek better. The sitbacker is adjustable with one strap so you don't have to worry about getting the two sides even. Unlike stadium seats, the sitbacker has straps that lock the seat into the canoe even if you roll it in rough water.
