Was just getting ready to get into the shower to start getting ready for my shift when my pager goes off. We got called in for a barricaded subject who was supposedly armed with a shotgun. Grabbed all my shit and headed out the door with no shower. Got to work geared up loaded all my entry stuff as well as my sniper stuff since I would be relieving the snipers that were already out if this went on too long. Ended up being deployed as part of the primary arrest team. Spent 3 hours in a position at the rear of the house listening to this clowns dogs bark non stop while HNT tried to bargain with him. He refused to come out and get the drop phone and all communication stopped. Finally we got the go ahead to make entry and our arrest team linked up with the entry team and we made entry. Guy was sitting in a recliner in the front room pretending to be asleep. (as if he could sleep through us ramming his door). No injuries to us or him, found his shotgun unloaded upstairs. (he must have thought better of it) All that nonsense over a domestic. Got me an hour of overtime though. animlol.gif

OT listening to dogs bark for three hours is not worth it. I like the ones that are in the attic that won't come out for hours and there is only one way in and out. That made for a boring night.

That's how I kiss off my DV's to SWAT.

Dispatch: 24david, 13700jo, s has weapons in house, V at nbrs,neg med.

24david: copy.

[Go 97, knock lightly, whisper "police"]

24david: Subj refusing to answer, visible through window... barricaded.

Dispatch: Copy, per Sam unit adv SWAT and start add'l 4 perimiter. Unit to call perimiter plz adv.?

24 David: Copy.

[put straw in mocha and watch the show]

Just kiddin. Being a patrol rifle, I get to jump on barricades/perimeters as our teams are notified. Most of our SWAT guys look foreward to the chance to gear up and come out to asst patrol.

Yep. I miss that (or, maybe I don't miss that).

Almost every single "Barricaded armed subject" call I went to it always ended up like you just said. The subject is in the house when we gain entry...pretending to be asleep.

I hope you gave him a rude awakening like we always did. He's on his way to jail...or the mental institution...or Both! cool.gif

Still, I'm glad it worked out for the best. I simply hate pathetic, self-centered, jerkballs like you just mentioned!

I've only been to a couple of those, but both have been just as you guys said, acting like they were asleep. Are these people that stupid? Do they honestly think everyone believes that they slept through the whole thing? Or are they just that screwed up, that they think people will believe anything that spills out of their mouths?
