I have been reading Jim Cirrillo's book and it would be interresting to see some of the rounds that he designed loaded into 10mm and 45 by DoubleTap. Cirrollo has the patent on them but no factory has stepped forward to load them. Supposedly Ed Sanow thought they were damn impressive with an enormous permanent wound cavity.

for pistol calibers I wanna throw in another vote for the 7.62X25 tokarev. Just thinking what he can do with that makes me giddy! biggrin.gif ooohh, and while a bit controversial at the moment glare.gif imagine a doubletap 5.7x28! I don't think Mike could keep those in stock, that is if it were even possible for him to load them being such an exotic bullet type and casing... still though just imagine a great source for 5.7 ammuntion! That would be nice. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Continuing on the Commie calibers, how bout 9x18 Makarov? Nothing overly hot, but just a good solid HP load.

If Speer ever comes out with a 10mm GD in the 135-150 range, that would be great. What I really want now is a FMJ offering in 155 or 165. Maybe a 155 @ 1350 or a 165 @ 1300. Maybe a 200 FMJ loaded a bit less than what is offered for range use. I'm hoping the 9X25 is doing well because I'm about to take the plunge. I could afford to shoot a bit of the FMJ's for fun at the range. Thank's Mike.

I would love to see a .38 Special +P with 135gr. Gold Dot or 110gr. DPX bullets for use in a snubby revolver.

Sure, Mike can make the 10mm, 45, 357 and other major calibers stand up and be noticed, what can he do with a 380? My 10mm is in the shop and I am relegated to carrying my German made PPK/S. 380 is better than nothing but I wonder what Mike could do with one? The old German made PPK/S is built like a tank and I would be happy to have some DoubleTaps to use in it.

Good question. I think that good penetration is key and the relatively weak 380 would need some sort of FMJ round to do the job. Preferably something with a large meplat that would still be shaped to feed reliably.

I personally don't own anything smaller than a 9mm primarly because of what I feel is a lack of effective rounds. Plus, I don't really like the recoil of blowback guns.

I was going to say 9x19, but there really is an abundance of good rounds in that caliber.

My next choice would be a good self defense round in .38Spc or .44Spc (with me prefering the .38Spc). I could handle +P, but I would feel even better with regular pressure.

The demand for 5.7x28 ammo is going up. Currently there is no US ammo maker who makes this round. There might be by the end of this year. Anyway a 40gr bullet going 2000 fps would be very nice out of the Fn FiveseveN.

I'd love a hot 32acp round on par with the old Geco rounds.

Or, how about a +P .38 spl wadcutter load with a hard bullet that's unlikely to deform a la Jim Cirillo? We've been talking about such on The High Road, Sixgunner.com, the S&W Forum, Warrior Talk and Lee Jurras' Bull Sessions for a while now. IIRC, David DiFabio of ammolab fame has endorsed the idea, and Fuzzy of Safe Stop makes the bullets and loads ammo . . . but Fuzzy's ammo is priced a lot higher than what many folks can afford (at c. $40 for 50 rounds).

Just an idea. . .

Hey Mike if you did work up a 32acp load would you be able to do it with HPs that are the same AOL as a FMJ round? This would prevent rim lock and give us Kel Tec Fans good 32 ammo for SD. Is it even feasable to load such a small round?

Id like:

90-95grn fmjrn in .357 SIG at 1800fps

115 fmjrn in .357 SIG at 1650 fps

and conversion barrels for the Glock 20 and 29 into 7.62x25

It seems there would be quite a market for good .32/.380 ammo. I also second the wide meplate solid idea. Also, of course, a .44spl loading or two and the common rifle cals. Just mak 'em all, you know we'll buy 'em! worthy.gif

Dear Mike:

I had spoken with the CEO of Charco in September. He stated that he is bringing out the .44 S&W Special, .357 S&W Magnum and the .32 H&R Magnum, all built on their "Bulldog" frame.

The .44 S&W Special can be had in either a 2", 4" or 6" barrel lengths. both the 4" and 6" barrel lengths will have adjustable sights as an option. the same arrangement will be available with the .357 S&W Magnum-chambered revolvers.

The .32 H&R Magnums will be available in 2" and 4" barrels. The latter will have adjustable sights as an option.

Because these revolvers will debut during the February 2006 S.H.O.T. show, It may be a good idea to concentrate upon developing a "spicy" .44 S&W Special and .32 H&R Magnum loadings.

A word to the wise,

Scott thumbsup.gif
