So I found these really great tires for a decent price. They have recived great reviews all across the board, aggressive looking, and fairly cheaper than others alike!

Problem is, no one will tell me if they fit or not!!!!!!!!!!

I currently have 31's on my Bronco. I want to upgrade to 33's to fill the wheel wells. Half the tire shops I went to yesturday told me "you'll deff need a lift". Others, "I'm not sure if they'll fit your rims..." All while going on the internet and some Bronco owners have 33's on a stock suspension, and others say they needed a lift or pinch mods (cutting bumper a little and such) in order to get clearence.

BTW if any of you guys know the answer... I currently have 31x10.5xR15 on my truck now.. I want 33x12.5xR15. The numbers I'm confused on are the 10.5 and 12.5 width. I'm not sure what size my rims are..they are stock

This is really starting to bug me now th_realmad.gif th_realmad.gif th_realmad.gif

I have no idea, but I'm sure the interwebs can help!
Found this discussion about stock Explorer wheels:
http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=251773

Which led to this Explorer wheel/tire faq thread:
http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216933

I know it's not exactly what you want but will give you a better idea. I'd worry and possibly measure distance to the strut, that is where the width along with height might hurt you.

10.5 and 12.5 are the tire width. If your wheels are 7" wide, get the 10.5s. If your wheels are 8" and you have room get the 12.5s.

Lift and check to make sure they dont rub suspension.

I am pretty sure they will rub when turning or off roading. You should be able to run a 32. My parents had a 79 Bronco and 33's would rub while off roading and the 79's had more room than the later models.

Great links! I'll have to check em out tonight at work..

I'm pretty sure my rims are 15x8

I'm looking at the goodyear duratracs, and they only come in either 31x10.5 or 33x12.5

Though last night I was searching hard, and found a guys own web-page about his ford bronco. He's got an 88 with the 33'' duratrac tires..with a 3" body lift. I don't think without the lift, he'd be able to fit the tires :(

Ummmm, no 33x12.5xR15 will NOT fit your Bronco stock rims or without a lift...

shatcan the Goodyear tires idea, they are about as shatty as you can get.

Go with BFG/AT's

Better tire, better on/off roading ability, better in snow/ice with a longer tread life & less flats.

Look at the BFG AT/KO's in LT285/75R16 or LT295/75R16 don't remember what one fits the Bronco better, but they are a great tire.

Had BFGs.. really not all that great. I've never offroaded with them however had em on two trucks - Dodge ram 1500, and Titan, but a buddy with a Titan had em on his lifted truck, and said they flat out suck in the rain (I agree) and offroad. He sold em after a few k miles and got some nitto grapplers. I unfortantly delt with them for about 25k each

These goodyears have gotten good reviews all across the board..andyes, I agree with 'goodforoneyear' tires.. 3 sets in 50k miles on the Titan. But can't argue the reviews from others who actually have the tires.. especially the guys with those ugly FJ yotas, which I hate to compare, but they are shortbase, and weigh roughly the same as the bronco.

I've 4 wheeled in Moab UT with BFG/MT's, up in the Colorado Rockies all around a town called Ouray, been in some good mud, snow, more snow & rocks without a flat tire or any problem with the BFG's over the years...

Have em on my F250 now & love em....Will be driving to work on em come morning in who knows what kid of snow....

Had em on my 92 Bronco (full sized) up in North Dakota and loved em in the snow, rain and wet crap. Got stuck in the front yard in about 12-14 inches of snow with the good year POS tires.

Sure they can break free when it's wet, but so can anything & you can have em sipped to improve wet traction...

had a pair of goodyears & had 3 flats in a few months, got stuck once and just hated the ride and the cheap construction of the tires.

If you think the bigger blocks of rubber on the good year tires will not break free when it's wet or light snow/ice worse than the BFG's your kidding yourself.

Replaced the Goodyears on the Bronco in 93 with BFG's and that's all I've ran since...

The BFG mALL TERRAINS are a decent tire. Alot of people here run them on their jeeps before they lift and buy more agressive tires.

I'm not kidding myself at all. I personally had em on two trucks, and wasn't please at all with them. My bridgestone duelers work wonders and I would buy them again, but I'm looking for something a lil more agressive. But like I said, I personally had bad experince with them, and would buy a better tire (Duelers) again before buying something that didn't do it for me before.

I don't like to do any brand bashing but in my opinion Goodyears suck, bad. They make good drag racing tires but thats about it. I do not care for their passenger car and light truck tires whatsoever.
Which Dueler are you running now? The AT Revo II is their newest offering and are a fantastic product. They are quiet, smooth riding, and great traction tires in the wet or off road.
The Firestone Destination AT is a pretty good tire as well, better in wet weather then the BFG radial ATKO's but not as good for off road traction by comparison.
I don't think 33's will fit a stock suspension without modifications in order to prevent rubbing when turning and being able to turn your wheels enough for a sharp turn. Heck I would think that 31's would look good and fill the wheel well enough, does it not look good to you?

I also agree, goodyear sucks. But these tires have gotten great reviews..so worht a shot. if not, I could always sell em.

I think 31's are too small.. 33s would be nice, but maybe just a little too nice. Maybe 32's??

What size are on it now? What do they equal out to in inches?

IMO, it looks proportionally "right" as it is. I think with no lift and anything much bigger than you have it will rub..

I have been running Nitto Terragrapplers here. I love em. I dont like BFG' all terrain. They have good traction but the side walls are too weak for me. Out here we have alot of rock mostly volcanic and its sharp.

IMO the BFG's would be worth the extra $160. i am a long time BFG A/T fan but i'm currently trying out the nitto T/G's just to see how they last.

i think looking at the pics of your truck a 32x11.50x15 would look just about right. thumb.gif

Get the BFG's. The Goodyears are junk for an SUV. They make good street tires for cars, but they're not known for great traction tires. Anyone who is reviewing them is probably someone who put them on a Tahoe that never sees anything other than a bit of snow on a paved road.

I had BFG's on my F250, not to bad in dirt and not to bad in snow on the flats(standard OEM size) Have them as OEM on the H2, (315x70x17) NOT good in deep snow, ans deep snow on a hill on pavement! Too big of a foot print, not big enough lugs to throw out the snow. Got caught in the first snow last Dec. when the wife got home there was about a foot of med-wet snow onn the driveway which is a steep hill up from the road to the house. At 6400 lbs empty (and it wasn't) it couldn't pack the snow hard enough and the pack sheared and the H2 swapped ends less than half way up! With Traction control having no OFF, it used ABS to give the brake a squeeze for the wheel that it sees is spinning too fast. Finally made it up by getting a good running start up and two-footing at the top where I had to make a turn. About this time I started throwing snow everywhere! When I got stopped, I realized that the warning lamps for TC an ABS were lit. Maybe I can figure a way to disable traction control in the snow!
It all depends on : Vehicle type, terrain type, and driving habits/skill. I've had Michelin all seasons on my F250 since before first snow. But She's geared low 4.30:1 and tires are 31" tall and 265mm wide. with a long wheel base. I made it up jus fine when there was just 8-10".
I decided that I wasn't gonna shovel that mess and went out and bought a snow-blower!!!!!! Unloaded it at the bottom and went to work 6 gears and 10hp HOO-YA!!!!!!
Now I have a ATV with a plow also. Waiting on snow to have some serious fun!!
