Well as some of you may know, I got a pump action .270. Remington I believe..

Looks kinda like this gun

I was thinking of getting a bi-pod for it.. saw one at walmart for $40. Dunno if good or not, but my buddy has one on his .22 riffle and it works good.

Will it fit my gun?? I have no idea how these things mount..but I'd love to have one to make shooting easier flea.gif

I have one of those from Wal Mart. It attaches to a sling swivel.

So am I able to still have the sling in place?

How do you like it? Good quality? To me it seemed durable..

Yea, you hook the bipod to the swivel, and the sling hooks to the bipod. Its a pretty descent bipod. Its no Harris. Buts its ok. The only thing Id do it put some super glue on the roll pin holding the rubber feet on, because the ones on mine moved alot. And do not take those roll pins out. There is a spring hooked to them.

A bipod on a pump is actually quite rare. In fact, the pumping action makes a permanently attached one actually pretty undesirable. By its mounting, the bipod could interfere with the pump action depending on the circumstance.

A neat little thing I keep in my shooting case is the low cost plastic universal bipod. Its basically just two plastic legs with a spring that will fit over any barrel. When the bipod is locked closed, the top is open so you can slip it over the barrel. By a twist of your hand, it opens which closes it over the barrel. It works fine as is but you can put a little rubber tape (low temperature use) or glued leather (higher temperature use) to reduce slipping and reduce the potential for scratching.

It works very well for a temporary bipod on any gun, you can carry it in your back pocket when in the field or in your gun case to the range. You can deploy it in literally under a couple seconds, actually not much slower than a mounted bipod. The cost is typically under $20.
