I'd say S&W, they make a great 1911 for a decent price.

I had to vote RIA. I started with a llama 3" for concealed purposes......what a f***ing mistake, sloppiest thing i've ever shot and i've shot a highpoint. That was traded on a used charles daly. It was ok, decent trigger, but one night after cleaning I loaded it as we were about to leave, and as I gripped it to put it in the holster BAM it went off through a chair and buried itself a 3 inches in the cabinet. I took it apart, the sear was horribly worn. I could have just replaced the sear and probably been fine. I was a little afraid now of the gun itself and sold it letting them know it needed a new sear and not to load it until it had one. I then bought an RIA and it has been my ccw ever since. I've never had a problem with my RIA. I've fired high end guns, my friend had 2 eclipses and a raptor. Another had a nice SA. Sure I don't have an ambi safety, extended beavertail, or skeleton trigger. But I do know that when I pull the trigger, 99.9% of the time it's going to fire, and that means more than any extra gadget.

Love the springer that is getting a 460 rowland upgrade really.gif really.gif smiley_smartass.gif flea.gif ! Spring was $600 the Auto was $250! I might change my mind if my Dan Wesson Valor ever comes in.

Ok upon further review Dan Wesson is it. The Valor is pure 1911 nirvana.

Although, I do own two Kimbers. When it comes to quality vs. cost; I have to agree with Oak, the Dan Wesson's are hard to beat. As for the parent company CZ , the quality is paramount through the entire product line. I also think, that Rock River Arms delivered a very nice 1911 product; which alas, are no longer available.
