I own 5 Kimbers and one Colt. I had to vote for Kimber.

I have not owned enough to vote. my father has a great Colt, but the majority of the colts I have seen are no better than other guns at lower prices. I love my Sigs, but the prices have gone nuts on them lately....

I would say either Kimber or Rock Island.

Though the Taurus 1911 is supposed to be a real smooth gun from what I hear...

But then I got my Addax Gas piston AR. Sure I still have to keep a few small replacement parts, but I'll let you kick me in the balls for every malfunction I have with my Addax GPU, thats how reliable it is!

So far we are at, hold on, let me check..... ZERO!

I had to vote RIA. For the money, you get a darn nice gun that shoots the same cartridge as the others. Is it as fine a firearm? No, but it costs a lot less and is reliable and true to it's roots. For bang for the buck, I think it's a winner.

If you had asked which is my favorite, it would be a Kimber.

i guess we need a make and model to help the masses determine what is the most "Bang for Your Buck" Kimber is good and getting some votes but just like all other makes you can purchase a relativily expensive Kimber or Springfield or Colt.
i would vote for the Kimber Custom II blued but not the Gold combat II or springfields service two tone and not the Trophy service pistol.

I have owned 2 1911s a Norinco and a Taurus. I have experience with colts and springers. The Norinco was a good gun, cheap but was mil spec from the box and needed lots of parts and pieces to make it user friendly. That cost money. The Taurus came out of the box good to go and I have had 0 problems with it. The only thing I changed was the grips because I had a set that needed a home. I bought mine for $200 less than I could find from any other maker even that came even close to its features. It isn't a high end gun, but it works and didn't need any more money put into it.

A lot of nice guns out there is you have the $$$. For a good deal on a reliable pistol that has all the bells and whistles without breaking the bank. I would go with Para. I have owned 2 and would drop money for another one tomorrow if I had the chance.

I like my RIA 1911. Excellent bang for the buck. Why did you not list AUTO ORDINANCE as a potential choice?

I carry a Rock Island 1911. I bought it new at a pawn shop. It shoots great and I love it. It will shoot all kinds of ammo, some old ammo we had was about 15 years old and it shot it out no problem. The gun is basically a Colt, but at half the price. Colt had factories in the Philipines, the brand that ensued was Rock Island Armory. I've had no problems out of it. Happy shooting.

It was a toss up for me between Springfield and Kimber. I own one of each, but for the money I think SA is the better buy. I love my Kimber Ultra Carry, but the finish is already starting to wear off of the dern thing, so I gave my vote to SA.

I know I'm new & I just shot 2 TRP's & if had the money I'd get 3 for a little more than a top of the line Wilson. Damn they are great! oh yea.gif
I shot a blued one with just a little mods. A BTS that was made not to work, gold dot front sight, & a STI trigger. Man I love that gun! I'd fix the BTS though!
