Gear Sector Sling Attachment

This is a how to for those of you who own or are going to buy a Gear Sector sling. The attachment will work with either the basic GS 2P or ASP (out of the box).

Insert with the keepers pointing up. In this case the sling is facing toward the muzzle.

Double the strap back over itself and run them through the keepers.

Then flip the entire attachment over and run the loose end through the larger opening.

Double the loose end back over and insert it in the smaller opening parallel to the part that you just inserted into the larger opening.

It should now look like this.

This is where the "TigerStripe" part of the attachment process. I came up with this and it virtually guarantees that it will not loosen without a tool. And to attach it this way you need some tools: needlenose pliers and a small screwdriver. However, push the end as far as possible manually.

Try to get the end started into the buckles. Do not use the lower side of the keepers, thread them back the same side that you used the first time.

As you can see, I needed my small screwdriver.

Here it is with the end through the keepers.

Now use needle nose pliers pull the end through the keepers.

Taking up slack on the buckle end.

Here it is attached. It will not fall off or work loose.

Finally, a coyote Gear Sector ASP attached to the foliage green GS 2P attachment point. It's possible to switch back and forth. You can have one sling and several attachment points and one sling. If your budget is limited, you can get one quality sling for every weapon.

Thanks. That's not an out of the box item. You can get this: QD adapter or use one of the standard (out of the box) adapters and one of these.

ETA: It's an M93B, the stock that the UBR replaced.

No, not on the one in this thread. The M93B stock has specific mounting attachments that will only work on it. I have one of the SPRE's on my POF. One of the first production batch. I have a prototype/evaluation version somewhere as well. The SPRE's will work on any collapsable stock except the M93 or UBR. Those come with their own built in tube and specific mounts for them. Like hsracer said, it is on the same principle.

It's pretty easy to remove a collapsable stock, but the castle nut needs a special wrench. The SPRE works great with a carbine stock for the ASP and the GS 2P. I'm going to do a "how to" in the manner Gear Sector recommends. And I have one to do for the ASP sling as well.

I'm waiting for them. The Gear Sector way is much easier than my way. I have a review with that method too.
