Tried some Double Tap 180g loads for the first time today. Both Match and the Bonded HP. Must say I was disappointed in the Match as far as accuracy went. I managed only a 4.75" 9 shot group at 20 yards with a recently put together G20T long slide. With a near stock G20 the same ammo managed a 3.5" group at the same distance. Out of the G20 the Bonded HP did a little better at the same distance by grouping 5 rounds into 3".
I may be getting to old and busted up to do this anymore (LOL) but I was not too impressed. I have to dig out one of the 45 ACP 1911s I still have and shoot a group at the same distance and see if I can still put 5 rounds into 2" or there abouts. I need to test the 10mms again with some other ammo too.
Willing to admit it might be me or the Glocks but I'm not sure the DT ammo is worth the high price. I do give them credit for doing the near impossible...getting higher velocities than the big name factories at reasonable pressure and light recoil. The fired brass looked fine with no bulges or flattened primers. And, I was expecting much more recoil but even the Bonded HP was very pleasant to shoot. Just wish I could have hit better with it.

Maximum loads are rarely the most accurate, but realistically, how accurate do defensive loads have to be? One thing is for certain, no felon is going to notice the difference between a 2" and a 5" group when shot.
