I have just about rifles for my own rifle sqad now so I thought I would start to add some goodies to make them more accurate.I was wondering,in your humble opinions who makes the best aftermarket triggers for an AR and what are the pros and cons of some of the different setups.I know there are a multitude of options and I would prefer something that I can drop in without having to take it to my gunsmith.Thanks.

My Ar like my AK are both spral and prays. The AR will have better optics and some extras hung on it and a 2 stage trigger.
My 6.5 Creedmoore will get the best trigger I can afford to put in it. So far I've seen some real bad reviews a a couple. I'm not repeating anything I don't know about from first hand experience.
Like my opinion of Glocks and Sigs.

If you don't want to send your parts to a smith you can buy a duty trigger setup from Bill Springfield at Triggerwork.net for $85. Trigger jobs is his specialty and that's what he does for a living. He will make one built more toward a duty trigger than what you see on his site, more like 4.5 lbs, if you tell him that's what it's for. He makes minor adjustments to stock AR15 trigger parts, so if you have a problem you can put a standard backup until you can get it like it was. I doubt you'll have a problem, just pointing out that you can fix it quick if needed.

I am highly against these. (At least)One member had a bad outcome with one like this. By a factory trigger or have a true professional do it. That's my opinion.

I like the Timney 4# trigger I put in one of my builds. Works great. Crisp, breaks like a glass rod. Not too heavy, not too light. Almost a drop in.

For a complete trigger group not requiring you to send it out then you might want to look at the RRA 2 stage.

Legendary rep on that trigger and fairly affordable.

I saw a Rock River 2 stage at the show today for $100 but I didnt buy it.I did get the guys number so I might give him a call.I am more interested in using something like the Timney or the RRA or something else that I can install myself.I dont really want to get into tweaking the stock trigger parts because I have heard way too many stories about bad results.I'm headed out to Knob Creek in a couple of weeks to the machine gun shoot so I hope to pick something up out there.Any other brands or styles I should be looking for? Thanks again

Bill Wilson is making triggers for the AR now, but they're $100 more than the Timney.

While at the gun show I traded an AR15 pistol that I had built for a Remington 700 Sendero in 308 so it kind of cleared up a couple of my wants and needs at the same time.I've been wanting a 308(because I got a couple of free ammo cans full of 308) and had been looking for one in an AR platform but hadnt found one cheap enough yet so the Remington solves that problem.and it has a really nice clean, light, trigger pull.I got some money to boot so I ended up with about $400 in the Remington. The AR pistol was cool but I couldnt figure out any practical purpose whatsoever for having it. I also picked up some cheap AR parts(DPMS-lpk for $50 and a Magpul precision rifle stock for another project $150)while I was there so it worked out to be a pretty fruitful day.

I ended up picking up a Rock River national match trigger and LPK at the Knob Creek machine gun shoot. I already installed it and it feels nice but I didnt get to go out and shoot yet.Maybe in a couple of days I can get out and shoot a few rounds and zero a couple of scopes in.

Let us know how it shoots. I haven't heard a complaint about one.

I've got Rock River triggers in 2 of my AR's and I like them. Very clean break on the second stage.

I'm going to send a coupe out to Bill Springfield and get a 3 and 4 lb jobs. I've heard lots of good things about his work and it is a less expensive alternative if they are that good.

Jard makes both an adjustable and non-adjustable single stage in various weights. Easy to install. Fast shipping. I like mine. check out http://www.jardinc.com/

A big +1 for Bill Springfield's work. For ~$50, it has to be the absolute top VALUE in the AR trigger world.

Bill springfield did a great job on my standard A2. I didn't measure it beforehand but I noticed a great improvement. A lot smoother and lighter pull. And turnaround was like a week from when he got it to back in my gun.
