Went by the ATL bass pro shop today in ATL. They had several boxes of the Winchester SXZ in both the SD and the target. The target was about $2 less expensive per box than regular FMJ. From what I understand you can only get them from BPS and they are not even listed on winchesters site. Before sombody askes I looked at the SD rounds and they are not repackeged talons. I have noticed on a search that some folks were asking about that.

I ended up picking up 2 boxes of the SD and 2 of the target. And a box of 185 gr golden saber.

Several of the guys I shoot IDPA with have used this ammo. To my knowledge, there's been no problems with it.

The stuff just looks like their vanilla line of JHP or FMJ with the same lubricating coating they used to put on their Black Talon line of ammo. While I'd have no problems using the FMJ for practice, there's definitely better on the market for personal defense.

I had some problems with the 230gr. 45acp in that I had several FTF per 50 round box. I was trying out my new Taurus PT1911AR and I shot several different brands. The SXZ was the only one I had problems with and it also shot the worst groups. On the other hand I also shoot the 9mm version in my Browning Hi Power without any problems whatsoever. Accuracy is right on par with the other ammunition I shoot.
