I'm leaning towards Winchester Supreme Ballistic Silvertips.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

What caliber? .223? All I have seen is a 50 or 55 gr bullet, they may be a bit too fast expanding, more of a coyote round. But then FL deer are not a whole lot bigger.

It is the original premium bullet. It has a jacket with a web that seperates the 2 halves of the core, it is described best as an H with the top uprights bent in. They are designed to expand only as far as the web in the jacket and stop expanding, making for increase bullet weight after expansion and give better penetration.

Yep, it will be a toughy, start calling gun shops you may be able to find some if you let yer fingers do the walking.

Winchester also has a 64 gr power point that should do well.

Cabelas has Black Hills 60gr VMax in stock. It's also a ballistic tip like the Nosler Partition.

They also have Black Hills 60gr soft point too. Another great hunting round.

Black Hills is primo ammo. Top of the line.

It would be good ammo there, but I found a better round you can get for a short time.

http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/catalog1/pro...soft-point-ammo

Darn good ammo with one of the heaviest soft points you can find. The seller is also an Armory sponsor and one of the best online sellers you can use.

We actually have a notorious poacher that shoots quite a few with a 22 LR... (I guess that are cheaper to lose). I would like to see it done with my 5.45x39 buuuuut I think it falls into "illegal" caliber.

The Winchester 64gr Power Point and the Federal TRU 64gr soft point is the same thing. I have both.

That's all I use. Very accurate and explosive.

But I hunt deer with a .243 bolt gun.

Buddy of mine shot a 130 lb 6 point with a .50 muzzle loader last weekend right near Ormond. That's a nice size for a Fla deer.

Heck, I thought all the deer in FL were gator bait.
