Yep, gravy goes with biscuits and sauce goes with spaghetti, lasagna, Italian foods more or less.

You never had BBQ sauce? Why is cheese sauce a sauce and not a gravy, it meets Mike's definition of having milk?

It's the cooks choice.

Let them tell me whether i am eating brown sauce or brown gravy. Tastes the same either way.

One of my uncles has called sausage gravy bisquit sauce for as long as i can remember.

Gravy: a jus that has been thickened with flour, either by adding flour to the roasting pan before deglazing or thickening in a saucepan with roux.

Sauce: everything else.

Source- Sauces, Classical and Contemporary Sauce Making,

James Peterson, 1998.

If you interested in sauces, this book is the bible. Link to Sauces

Huh. First Neil with an EasyBake, now Wiseman with his "sauce vs. gravy" topic.

I'm not one to judge, but something just doesn't seem right here... unsure.gif
