Hopefully I'll be able to take it out tomorrow and get that strikefire sighted in! Can't wait! I really like my VZ a lot.

Sharp rifle you got there. Do you suppose it'd be possible to co-witness the sights with a lower mount or would that require a mini red dot sight?

Ok, just when I thought I knew what my strikefire was going on, you have to go and pull this crap? laugh.gif

What kind of mount is that?

My VZ58 might need something like that.

Even with a mini-red dot, I do not think co-witness would be possible. May be I am wrong.

This particular rail is made by PRI:

I am quite happy with it. There IS a rail that can co-witness on the VZ58 if you use a mini-dot. Its made in Canada by North Eastern Arms...iirc, it should be offered by Czechpoint sometime in the future. Here are some pics of it that I shamelessly stole from Canadian Gun Nuts Forum:

And the cowitness:

I've never been a fan of co witness, so this rail will do great for me. There are two big pluses for the PRI rail in my mind, firstly it has nice vent holes on it which you can see in the close up (the North Eastern does not, so it will get hotter) and secondly you can get a side rail for each side that attaches to the top, shown here:

Just slap that on and you are ready to go!

I'm extremely pleased with the quality of the PRI rail (I know they make some good AR gear as well). The only qualm I had was that it was SUPER tight and I had to use the assistance of a rubber mallet and some light tapping to get it in place correctly. I'll throw up some more pics after I get a chance to shoot with it.

*edit* found a better cowitness pic

Here are the results! Got the sucker sighted in.

This is a 15ish shot group at 50 yards.

I adjusted it a bit more after I shot this group (needed it more down and to the left). I'm really happy with the strikefire as my optic, but the mount it comes with does leave a little bit to be desired (you REALLY need to crank the screw down tight).

Very nice, Nate! thumb.gif

Mine looks almost identical to yours in setup. I don't have a Vortex on mine yet, though.
