Well i thought i would have more time to be bumming around the forum but it turns out taking 20 credits in accounting, doing National Guard, and ROTC is keeping me as busy as i have ever been in my life. I just finished 6 straight weekends of Guard/ROTC so i decided to go bowhunting since a month of the season had already past. The beauty below resulted from a trip to my cousin in law's farm West of here a couple of hours. Not a monster, but a nice buck for the area. He is hangin in the garage, hoping to cut him up tonight. On another debatable note, i sold my LR-308 on saturday. I posted it here first but no one bit, so i sold it for a little loss on Saturday. Now comes the important decision. It is a sizeable amount of money and i could easily replace it dollar for dollar with an M1A. I am thinking a loaded would perform almost as well but am not sure if it's worth it to step up to the national match. Any opinions from the M1A guys out there seem to be available at good prices on gun broker and i see one coming my way soon in the near future.
But i have a small break before the next round of tests so i will try and poke my head in a little more often.
I spose a pic is due of the deer: dont mind my ugly mug...
Taken out of a tree stand in N Central ND at 22 yards. 100 grain muzzy w/ 60lb draw on Mathews Outback. I will even tell you the truth, i missed first shot (over back and he ducked). He looked around walked back 5 yards, came back and i nailed him second try high back. Sliced the artery and some liver and he made it 40 yards or so. Great weekend for me after a very stressful 6-7 weeks.
