Dan, to add to my last post. I have a RR entry tactical rifle 16.5" barrel. If that helps. Pretend you have my rifle using it in the above scenario.

I personally would run the Eotech XPS-2 for $459.

Thank you for ur .02. I appreciate it. That said if I went with Eotech im leaning toward the 552. My reasoning is the batteries. Much easier to come by and cheaper. They also last longer.

Here's my 1 cent. smiley_smartass.gif Unless you plan on using NV, why not go with the 512?

Pleaforwar: What would you want in the streets or city type situation?

I'm IN the city (4 miles from downtown), and I'm running the Trijicon RX30 on BOTH my AR's.

Partly because of astigmatism, partly because of the saved weight (no packing around extra batteries for the optic - it's ALL fiber optic & tritium!), but mostly because the optic is BIG, the dot is too (6.5 MOA), and I'm lights out at 100 yards, which is a LONG range shot in the city, anyways!

Works great with Troy BUIS, btw. thumb.gif

The reason people have both EOtech and Aimpoint is because they are both good sights and good for different reasons. I have more than one EOtech and like them because you pick up the target and reticle fast. The Aimpoint is tough and as has been noted, the battery life is super long.

Obviously, I'm not TWW, but basing on my Trijicon Reflexes in the past, the tritium at night is very good. It's the bright daylight that washes it out. However, that can easily be solved by the polarizer. I don't know if the new Reflex model that TWW has comes with the polarizer, but the older models do.

Ok, I'm confused, you personally choose EoTech while you put a M4 on your duty rifle but say you have more time behind your EoTech???

He asked between the Trijicon and EoTech...so I told him I prefer the EoTech over the Tri-Power, seeing as I have more trigger time with the EoTech over the Tri-power. These were his original two optics that he had asked about.

If he asked which optic(any) that I trust all the time, it would be my Comp M4.

Hope this helps with the confusion.

jchtrh: Of the two systems you have (trijicon, eotech) What would you prefer in a close combat battle (city or neighborhood)? Also how long is your battery life of the tri-power?

jchtrh: You quoted my question on battery life but forgot to answer it? If you could answer it that would be great! Also what quad rail, light and vfg do you have? It looks nice! thumb.gif

Sorry, I figured since G answered, I left it at that. Mine last about the same, I left it on full brightness for about 5 Days and then it went dead. I have not tried it on a lower setting, but I do leave it off all the time.

Which picture are you referring to about the rail, light and VFG? I don't want to tell you the wrong one.
