What is favored is the Aimpoint micro T1, it seems that's the best CQB sight on the market according to guys who put thousands and thousands of rounds downrange a year & who you would want to kick down your door to rescue you.....

I do like my EoTech & PoBoy setup, but hopefully will sell them one of these days so I can then afford a T1 to see how she works.

Yea, those Micros are nice. I plan on getting a T1 or an H1 on my SBR build. They are just so damn expensive.

I for one think you have options.

I prefer the Eotech line over the Tri-power, but some people love the TP (like James).

There are people who kick down doors that prefer Eotech.
There are people who kick down doors that prefer the RMR.
" " Elcan.
" " iron sights.
" " Leupold.
" " the Accupoint.
" " the ACOG.

I can keep going.

Go with what you feel is best for you, not just what you see on posters and calenders.

Rampy: How about the Aimpoint M4?

No question the M4 is a shat hot optic, it's one of the best on the market.

However, you can get a "cheaper" Aimpoint that's a year or two old with battery life technology and without the bells and whistles but still have a superb optic.

check out these optics/mounts they are about the best/cheapest combo packages you can find and they even come with free swag oh yea.gif oh yea.gif

Actually, GG&G have cheaper combo's for the Aimpoint models.

That being said, I cannot promise that you will receive free Dillo Dust from them. smiley_smartass.gif

I've played with GGG mounts side by side with LaRue mounts.

They are good mounts, no question about that & they are without question better than some, but there is a reason they are cheaper than LaRue... laugh.gif laugh.gif

Oh and while Dillo Dust is good tasting, it's almost to sweet for me & I much prefer Rick's Real Pit BBQ rub while Mrs Rampy and the rampy clan like Dillo Dust.....

I swear that is how they keep you coming back. Saw them at the NRA show this year, left with a bag and a calender, just to find a package in the mail with 6 bumper stickers, and that was BEFORE I owned anything Larue. laugh.gif

No question about it being a sales gimmick, but it's a rather good gimmick at that.

I like how they support the military, lots of stuff they do you never hear about & lots of R&D that they do with direct input from mil/leo shooters trying to improve products for the shooters.

Wonder what color the Christmas dillo will be this year laugh.gif laugh.gif

Tough decision. Sounds like many of you like Aimpoint. Many of you like eotech. Many of you own both lol. Aimpoint packs a higher price. I dont know I will try to go see them in person

Also, on Aimpoint's site. They say 80,000 hours of battery life during the DAY what about at night?

Makes no difference, a lot of people just leave their Aimpoint M4's on at all times.

pleaflower: do you think the battery power is th main reason the army and many people use them? Or is there something else that also puts them toward what seems to be the #1 spot?

I wouldn't say that the Aimpoint has the number one spot in the military, the ACOG holds that crown.

I think the battery power is a very nice characteristic of the Aimpoint, but it isn't something that destroys all competition.

Think about this, the Trijicon RMR is an optic that has a ten-year shelf life, requires no batteries, and is cheaper than the Aimpoint.

What it boils down to is that all optics have their pros and cons. You need to find out what works best with you and your goals.

Well I have a couple of Eotech optics and an Accupoint.

I really like the Accupoint with a Larue mount. It's nice to have the variable power and not need batteries.

I am not a fan of magnifiers, but that is my subjective opinion, a lot of people love them.

Basically, if you are asking between the Aimpoint and the Eotech, it would be a very hard decision. I really like the Eotech on SBR applications though, anything shorter than 11.5 and I would definitely go that direction.

If you don't mind me asking, how much are you looking to spend on an optic?

And you can call me Dan, most people do after a while.

Thanks for the replies Dan. I would like to spend no more than 700 at this point used to be more but now I know hat I can get for that. If I could spend less that would be great.
