Tifton homewoner shoots intruder 4 times in the head

Tift County authorities say a homeowner shot a man after he attempted to force his way into a rural mobile home
off Highway 125.

Sheriff's department spokesman David Haire says the homeowner, 33-year-old John Henry Howard Jr., was not hurt during the home invasion. It happened early Wednesday at about 2:30 a.m. Haire did not identify the suspected burglar, but said his injuries appeared to be serious. The intruder was shot 4 times in the head. He's hospitalized at Tift Regional Medical Center. No charges were immediately filed.

Unless the robber has a steel plate in his head I don't how he survived that.

4 rounds to the head and not dead? Even zombies can't take that.

Depends on the caliber, we ran somebody who shot himself in the head with a .25 cal pistol point blank and the bullet was stuck in his skin and did not penatrate the skull.

Must have a hard head.

Only four shots? Dude must have run out of ammo, and failed to have a backup magazine available. Must be a transplant from Yankee land.

Actually I smell fish on that shooting I think. But who knows Im sure the truth will come out. I've just never seen a intruder shot in the head four times. But I do agree the guy needs a bigger gun maybe like the good ole' 870 Remington shotgun for home defence. But if the guy/intruder doesn't make it, there will definitely only be one side to the story.

People have survived shotgun blast suicide attempts. Assuming its a common caliber like 9mm and not some kind of BFG... Could have survived. We also don't know what they mean by 'head', Could be exaggeration... Neck, Shoulders... Etc.

I've seen alot of suicides by shotguns and believe me they didn't make it. Not to the head! Now somebody might have gotten scared or couldn't get the shotgun under their chin good enough and blew it off. But believe me when I say the ones that wanted to die died and nobody's going to walk away 99.999% of the time. That miracle person that your talking about is rare thats why you hear about them,like the ones that are still around with half the brain lobe and are sitting in a chair starring at a blank wall the rest of their lives.

Could also be 4 rounds that grazed the skin, or even hit at enough of an angle that the round deflected off the skull. Then there are also shots to the mouth from the side so it just took out the jaw, teeth, and cheeks. Sucky luck, but it's very possible for 4 shots to not be lethal. The news doesn't know the difference in a shot between the eyes and a shot clean through your ear lobe. Both are shots in the head as far as they are concerned.

He won't try that again.

Just wait, I'm betting lawsuit. Perp is going sue the crap out of that guy and end up having everything in that trailer house anyway. Definately a reason to keep shooting until they quit squirming.

It wouldve only took one here,But many more would follow! When in doubt empty the mag!

I have never been inside a trailer (mobile home) that had anything of enough value for me we want to break in.

So! What happened? Did the perp survive? Did the shooter get sued?
