Well, I think I'm due for my next mid life crisis, and am thinking a bike may be just the ticket..... I've only ridden quadrunners, never a 2 wheeler, so definitely planning on the Motorcycle Rider Safety Class. Everyone here that has taken it recommend it? I hope it is basically "motorcycles for dummies", cause that is prob what I need. LOL
I'm hoping in the spring to do it and pick up a good used bike for my first ride........and best of all, the wifey says she may take the rider safety class too, which will be even cooler!

rasputin's rule: If you haven't owned a motorcycle by the age of 40, you can't buy one after the age of 40.

ETA: Just kidding (kinda')

that class will do you a lot of good if you are not familiar with bikes in general.

what are you looking for as a first bike? i'd recommend a small old ninja or something similar. get it for cheap, drop it for cheap and then sell it the next season for 99% of what you paid for it. thumb.gif

NAH !!!! GO BIG!!

Just kidding. Riding is a blast, great way to clear your head or remind yourself that you are human. You can strt small, or if you have resonable self control and the dexterity you can handle something larger and progressively work your way up. I started on a POS 450 Suzuki UJM, Rode that for a few months and went straight up to a KZ 1000 with lots of motor work. Never looked back since. Just take your time and remember that it's usually the people in cars who represent the biggest threats. Good luck!

I've never been on a motorcycle or scooter or even a mini bike.
