For the day after Thanksgiving, the family will be coming over. We'll be making lasagna. I've already made the sauce with ground beef, ground turkey and Italian sausage. Also with some homemade roasted red pepper sauce.

My personal tradition is to stuff myself before we go to my MIL's.

She doesn't think turkey is cooked until the internal temp reaches about 1200F .

I make a drunken turkey every year. 24oz. bottle of Budwieser stuffed up the turkey's butt. Baste liberally, and it takes about a half hour less than the suggested time.

Well I have the charcoal and an a$$ load of seasoned apple wood. So we'll fire up the smoker and cook a prime rib. I have the fixings for my blackened chicken and so I'll be doing that. Yams, Green bean casserole, Lima bean (for me) home made corn bread.

In the summer when sweet red peppers are cheap, I buy 'em by the 1/2 bushel, roast 'em under the broiler, peel them and then cook, puree and freeze the resulting sauce. Add that to the normal tomato-based Italian sauce. Also homemade - no canned stuff. And I use my own canned tomatoes. Am I like one homey mo-fo, or what.
