Anyone have a TLR-2?

How do you like it? I'm thinking if I'm going to fork out $150 for a light, might as well get one with a laser.

Anyone have any recomendations for lights+lasers? I like the TLR-2 being it's aluminum

Also, how do you sight the laser in? My buddy has that bore laser sight tool..that should work, right?

Looked at em, but felt that they (lasers) were a poor excuse for lack of marksmanship & a crutch...

Know a few guys with lasers & they can't shoot worth a shat & blame it on the laser...

I really like my TLR-1

Use it on my Operator. The laser is adjustable via small screws on the bottom and one side. I know the sights are on so I attach the light and amke sure it is in a repeatable position (all the way back or forward agaist the rail) and get it good and tight. I then choose a distance that is common in my house. Remimber the laser is about an inch and a half under the bore line so the round will cross the lasers path fairly quickly. Lest say 15 feet. I set the laser to sit right on top of my fron sight post. Then confirm at the range. Remimber closer the round will hit higher and father away the round will hit lower. The down side is it is hard to find a holster that will accomidate the TLR2 mounted so I leave it in teh drawer next to the bed. Mount it at night and can confrim the lasers postition against the wall in the bathroom across the hall.

Good to know thumbsup.gif

I got great aim, but the laser I think is good for situations where you want to keep your gun on target, but don't want to fully line up all three dots.

For range time, a laser be pointless, especially being outside = too bright to even see the red dot

The ones I've shot were red and we were shooting outside & they were good up close, but did fade out at distance (don't ask about distance, do not remember) in the bright sun.

Smaller, lighter, but not as bright and does not have the battery life of the TLR2. My TRL2 is brighter than my surefire with new batteries and teh 120 lumin incan bulb.

Somantics I suppose. I said 'bright' not 'brightest'. Still for the weight trade off, and ease of use, I'm going to them on all my pistols. You get to a point eventually where backsplash ruins low light eyesight. I have TLR1's and both X200/300s on other platforms and they work fine, but for pistol work, the TLR3 is one of the best 'all arounds' out there I think.

How do these compare to a Surefire x300?
