Hi to the great 10mm Auto community
I am from Switzerland and was a fan of the 10 Auto from the beginning. My first 10 Auto Gun, was a Bren Ten Standard. Next gun was a Colt Delta Elite and my newest item is a S&W 1066 NS.
It's interesting to hear about other lovers of the 10 Auto. Let's keep the king of pistol cartridges alive!

Ravenman, welcome.gif to 10mmTalk!

Hearing that you have 3 Ten's confirms the realization that they are truly revered and nobody can have just one!

Always lookin' for the next one to add to the collection...VLTOR's "Bren Ten" is next on my list!

Glad to have you on board!
Best regards! thumb.gif

Glad to have you aboard. I am a huge fan of Swiss weaponry, especially the straight-pull rifles. Unfortunately, I don't have a 10mm . . . . yet.

Ravenman, welcome to the forum. Which canton are you from, if I may ask? My fondest dream is have a SIG pistol chambered in the mighty 10mm, or better yet a 556 carbine. I'm sure that you've heard that the "Bren Ten" is being revived by Vltor. This can only bode well for our favorite cartridge. Your input, will be more than welcome here. We have other Swiss members who also stop in, from time-to-time. Any pictures you have of people shooting in Switzerland would also be very interesting, to say the least. Enjoy your stay! thumb.gif

Ravenman, excellent pics. Thanks for the update. It seems that you enjoy a very diversified battery of arms. Your have some really nice looking ranges in your country, and have the luxury of being surrounded by verdant alpine landscape. Do you read Swiss periodicals on guns, or opt for American magazines too? Anyway, have a good one, Zephyr thumb.gif .

Zephyr

We have only one swiss gun publication and it's together with the german sister "Visier".
But I read some american gun magazines "Guns&Ammo", "Shooting Times", "Rifle", "Handloader", "Sixgunner", "Rifle Shooter" and "Successful Hunter".
And this is my little 10 Auto collection:

S&W 1066 NS

Colt Delta Elite Custom

and my Bren Ten. This is the first group when the gun came fresh out of the box.

Welcome. Great to see someone carrying in a Milt Sparks 1AT holster. Excellent choice (smile).

You have a great start on collecting 10s. You obviously need to get a Glock 20 to round out the collection.

Dave you have good eyes! I really love all the Milt Sparks products.
I already have a Glock 21 and that's the reason why I will not buy a Glock 20 in the near future.

And here some backround information how I got the 10 Auto virus.

Jeff Cooper and the writings in Guns&Ammo, Shooting Times and some articles in the long gone german "Waffenspiegel" let me buy a Bren Ten. Didn't have a great choice. There was "only" a Standard Model in 1986. Some time later (1988) the same dealer got a new black "Special Forces" Model. The price was too high (CHF 2'500.00) for me. But a good friend of mine bought this Bren Ten. He sold the gun only a few months later and regrets this decision since then. He had some trouble with his gun and got only one magazine. No one could supply spare magazines. That and the permanent jams were the reasons for the sale. He made no workover of his magazine and sold the gun to an other shooting buddy. I never forget the day we were at the range and he tried out the "Special Forces". He was afraid of the recoil and wanted me shooting the first shot. We were at a local hunting range and the distance to the target was 100 Meters.Rifle range not handgun but I loaded one Norma 200grs. FMJ round (ammo was scarce and expensive) and went into the classic Weaver stance. The target was picture of a roe deer about the size of a real roe deer. I aimed for the backline of the roe deer and let the bullet fly. The target came in and I had a perfect hole in the 10 ring (10cm diameter). A little bit high but in the right direction. The gun was sold without an other shot. Still see the big smile of the new owner. He kept the gun many years in his save and never shoot a single shot. Heard that he sold his Bren SF to buy a SIG 210 Target.
My Bren Ten has two magazines and worked with all kinds of ammo (factory Norma 200grs. FMJ and Norma 170grs. HP and reloads) but failed to hold the slide open after the last shot. I do not know what my gunsmith did with the magazines but fact is the gun works flawless now.
Good friend of mine is also a great 10mm fan and he has a big collection (Colt, S&W, Glock, ParaOrdnance) but no Bren Ten. He is looking for a Bren Ten whatever model but til now with no luck at all. I know only 3 Bren Tens in Switzerland. The sold SF and one SF stainless that was on the web for a few weeks and mine. The stainless SF had a high price (CHF 3'500.00) and only one magazine but found a new owner.
Hope some more swiss 10 Auto owners or lovers will join the fire. smile.gif
