I have to say I'm a bit steamed. About a month ago I spotted a S&W 1026 on Gunbroker with a 'buy it now' price of $400. I jumped on it, had my local gun shop fax out their FFL and put a money order in the mail. About two weeks went by without hearing a word from the seller and every day I stopped by the gun store they would tell me, "Not yet." I emailed and called the seller (a pawn shop) numerous times, but kept getting the run around. It had supposedly been shipped, but they couldn't give me a date or a tracking number. Finally a few days ago, after threatening legal action, they finally give me the info I asked for. They actually did ship it within a week of me sending out the money order and it was signed for at my local shop. I print up a copy of the UPS tracking info and take it in to show them. Turns out the day it showed up both the regular guys at the gun counter were both out hunting and so the person covering put it up behind the rack with the rifles, but never told anyone it had arrived. Now they can't find it! The manager was very apologetic and has stated that he'll cover my costs if it doesn't turn up by Monday, but I'm still out a 1026 at a sweet price! ARGH!!!

I had a similar experience with my first gunbroker purchase in that it was a crappy exchange. Really all on the part of the receiving dealer. Mine was sitting at the post office though. Apparently the FFL of my receiving dealer is confusing in that there were somehow two addresses on it. The guy I bought from sent the gun, somehow it went to the dealers house, they refused it there because it's not their business so it went back to the post office. I got curious about the shipment, called the store and they said nope, haven't seen it. Eventually I was able to figure out that it was at the post office and the dealer wanted more coin to go and pick it up. At this point I'm pretty hacked off because I can't do jack about it outside of doubling my fees, which I would have done I suppose to get the gun. Somehow the guy I bought from was able to explain the situation to the post office and they sent it to the store the next day. Why the receiving dealer couldn't call them I don't know, they just blamed the sender saying that he couldn't follow instructions. So it worked out well, and I obviously would but from the (Gunbroker) dealer again, just find a new FFL holder to ship to.
