Yeah, that's neat. They're called PS90's. FN's supposed to put them out on the market soon(supposedly 1st Qtr 2006 but we all know how that works out) from what I hear. I'm more interested in the FS2000 myself(alleged same arival date). I'm gonna wait until they are actually in the market before I even take an interest.

They take M16 magazines and have forward ejection.

The P90 is ambidextrous. They empties drop out the bottom and the controls can be manipulated with either hand. wink.gif

Too bad the 5.7 round is so useless because I like the weapon. It would be very cool chambered in .30 Carbine, IMHO oh yea.gif

BC the SS190 isnt filled with krytonite lol....its built much like a SS109 "green tip"bullet for your AR15. A mild steel nosecone sitting on top of the core.
where it really differs is that unlike a SS109 it has an aluminum core instead of lead(to keep the weight down) and it has a "steel" bullet jacket...its magnetic.
Out of the 16 inch barrel of the PS90 carbine, the over the counter SS195 doing 2500fps in a certain way is just like a carbon 15 pistol, or a TC contender in .222 remington....(hint) dont put on a IIA, II, or IIIA and have a friend shoot you
with it...the outcome would have you springing a leak.

So Level IV will stop it too? I know from soldiers who were in the sandbox recently said that a AK74 will go through Level IV armor.

a AK74 isnt going to shoot though a SAPI plate, anything that will stop 5.56NATO/.223 Remington FMJ will stop 5.45x39

we were talking "soft" armor...layers of Kevlar. IIIA is still soft armor.
a Military Interceptor vest is a IIIA vest with SAPI plates on front and back to stop rifle fire....if a bullet misses the SAPI plate it is hitting IIIA
Kevlar which will not stop 5.56 or 5.45 or 7.62x39......but would stop submachinegun/shotgun and pistol fire from most common types

Ok then, I remember them sayin something now that if it was equiped with all the extra plates it would. But they said most of the time they didnt wear those plates cause it was too heavy.

5.5 pounds per plate, and ya gotta wear two of them. The Interceptor plus plates weighs anough by itself, let alone the added MOLLE gear you strap to it.

Oh, and lets not forget 118 degree(and above) temps...and with a vest it adds 10 degrees to the heat index
