i just picked up (drove 800kms) the last case i could find in my country. 9 battle packs with 1260 rounds. i believe it is fmj 147gr and was wondering if anyone here has shot it and if so what was your experience with it ie accuracy, squibs etc.
thanks folks, i hope someone can shed a little light on this for me.

eta, is the brass worth collecting or is it trash?

IIRC and if it's like their 5.56 it's very good and sought for. The brass should be good. I'd get another opinion or three...

i know its berdan primer, which i guess is alright if you get the right equipment when you reload. i was thinking of letting a guy i met at the range fire off 5 at 300 yards to see what it does. he shoots a long barrel 308 remy i believe with iirc a 30 inch barrel. he is hitting the same hole (300yds) with his rollies with 20x scope. i wonder if he would give it a go for comparison. i just can't wait, i hope springfield is good on delivery times.

It can't hurt, except you'll be five rounds short....

+ 1 on the accuracy.

When I had my M1A the Silver Bear ammo shot more accuratly. The SA surplus was at 4 or 5in groups at only 100 yards!

But then I got my Addax Gas piston AR. Sure I still have to keep a few small replacement parts, but I'll let you kick me in the balls for every malfunction I have with my Addax GPU, thats how reliable it is!

So far we are at, hold on, let me check..... ZERO!

It goes boom every time, but accuracy out of my Armalite AR10 carbine was 2-3" @100 yds . Velocity shot to shot was + or - 400 fps.

Good enough for killing zombies, but I would practice with something else.

Its about 3 MOA at 100 yards in both my Imbel/STG 58 Franken-FAl and My M1A N. Match.
My PTR-91 likes it about 1 MOA better.
It is reliable... at least with the lots I have shot.
