Since moving to VA I haven't shot any matches but I have used my Delta, G20 and Buckeye special to compete with. In NV I shot a match every weekend Paladin(Desert Sportmans'), IDPA(Apple Valley gun club in CA ),Bowling Pins(Pawn and Gun), Bulls Eye(American shooters') and SASS with NV Rangers, and Silver City shooters as well as a monthly subgun match held at Desert Sportmans. I don't have a 10mm subgun but I do have SBR in 10mm it is a Oly AR with a 7' bbl it uses modified grease gun mags.

I don't own a digital camera other wise I would.
I have Polaroids of all my guns for insurance but they don't scan well.

I seem to be in the minority here.. I compete as often as possible with my 610 and managed to with the Canadian IPSC Nationals with that same 610. There were 6 of us total shooting Revolver Standard, but a win is still a win :)

I'm taking that same 610 to the US Nationals in a few weeks. I just wish I could find another 610 classic so I could have a backup or have S&W start building them again. Current prices for used ones are somewhat prohibitive these days sad.gif

My current classification is B Revo but at 73.5% I'm about to find myself in A class. Higher than any of the other divisions I shoot..

Hello all,
I'm with ya Sargenv,
I just started to shoot IPSC type events again after a 10+ year lay off ---- I got two classifiers under my belt for revolver class. I been useing what I first started out with -- my trusty 610 , 5" fluted clyd. --- converted to DA only. With 2 classifiers and about 300 rds. in practice {1 range visit}--- it looks like I'm on my way to "C" class beer.gif

i plan on using my G20 in IDPA. Hopefully in both SSP and ESP events (ESP I'll use .40 barrel and steel guide rod/spring). I like to shoot with what I carry. Though until this post I haven't been brave enough to try. THANKS!

I shot quite a few IDPA matches using my G20, but, since 10mm brass is so dear, I wussed out barf.gif and used a KKM .40 S&W conversion barrel (no other changes but it is then considered as ESP). If I could find Blazer crap-case in 10mm, I’d love to switch it back to 10mm. I keep “threatening” to use it (or my Javelina) just to keep everyone awake.

Matt,

I know your pain. I have sinced shooting 10mm all together lately due to the cost of brass and trying to find it.

I've only used my G20 once for an IDPA match several years ago, and I noticed no appreciable disadvantage compared to those shooting a 45ACP. My handloads at the time were 180gr FMJs at about 1100fps.

I just qualified MM a couple of weeks ago with a borrowed Ultra 10.
Doesn't sound like much but I was a couple of seconds off SS.
Not bad considering it was the first time I shot a 10mm on a 1911 frame.
I was so impressed I retired my Springfield in 45 and bought the Ultra 10.

Now I know what I've been missing.

I'm a 10mm fan now Lighten.gif

I'm new on the forum and I'm glad to have found some others who use the 10mm in IPSC matches. I've been shooting my Delta Gold Cup off and on since 1994 or so with 180TC bullets and Power Pistol powder that hit a power factor of 185 or so. I love it ! ! ! There is no question about the steel going down if you hit it. It is healthy and makes the others sound sort of mousey. Anyway, it's fun to watch some of the 38 super or 45 shooters try to rack the slide with the 24# recoil spring if I let them shoot it. I did have a Springfield Loaded 45 on order last fall because of the brass disappearing but, I ran across a Delta Elite that had been tricked out nicely and I can still shoot it in Limited, Limited 10, or Single Stack like the Gold Cup and it had less than 200 rounds through it. I canceled the 45 and now have two 10's. Can you have too many? Someone mentioned the fireball earlier. I shot the "dark house" for the first time last fall. Man, it got bright in there when I pulled the trigger. Sorry if I've rambled too much but, I do love the 10.

I just finished a 9 stage IDPA match with my G20SF using 180g. Montana Gold 180g. HP's at 1225fps. What a hoot!! I would have been much more competitive with my Baer TRS but I am not complaning. The grin factor by me and my squad made it more than worthwile. The cool part is I had help from the squad members in hunting down the brass. I got 80% of them back!! I It was so much fun I think I am going to bring it for the USPSA match next month.
